Commercial scanning of color films?31 Jul 2003 17:41 GMT12
I've been doing aerial photo shoots with 35mm film as image-capture medium,
then had the uncut negatives scanned commercially ($16US/roll) so I could
reprocess the images in PhotoShop. Results are pretty good; pixels seem to
be smaller than dye-cloud resolution. If top-end digital ...
best fine grain col neg for scanning ?31 Jul 2003 16:58 GMT7
I'm sure this is a well discussed question, but my search of google groups
doesn't turn up the answer.
What is the best fine grain 35mm col negative film for scanning
I want to use col neg instead of my usual 100 asa col transparency because:
Kodak 100 speed films?31 Jul 2003 14:13 GMT5
Why doesn't Kodak make any more 100 speed color negative films other
than Gold ("Bright Sun, whatever)? Why did they cut out Royal Gold
100, Supra 100, etc?
Am I stuck with 200 as a minimum? Or should I be using Fuji Superia
kodachrome30 Jul 2003 11:46 GMT4
Is there anyone still shooting Kodachrome? Where do you get it
developed? Besides, I checked Kodak's website and found that there are
Kodachrome 64 and Kodachrome 64 professional. Has anyone tried them both and
can tell me what's the difference between them?
Film/Paper Question28 Jul 2003 01:33 GMT7
I have been asked to take photos of my aunt's 80th. birthday party in a few
weeks. The party will be held outdoors, and I will be using a lot of
fill-flash. I have just about every color negative and black & white film ever
made from every manufacturer in the last 10+ (both 35mm and ...
Newbie question about D&P problem27 Jul 2003 13:53 GMT4
I've just had 2 rolls of 35mm iso 200 Jesops brand colour film
processed by Max Spielmann, as I was in a hurry.
The results are poor and look out of focus.
My question is - can the labs screw up and make the prints seem out of
exposing ektachrome26 Jul 2003 02:39 GMT1
I was wondering what you might tell me about reducing contrast when I dont
have the benefit of processing or printing control - I want to use the warm
tone ektachrome slide films in my elan 7 camera. I am going to Lucce,
Tuscany for a week and the light is cold, harsh and contrasty ...

How is Provia 100F for potraits?25 Jul 2003 05:32 GMT7
Hello Im just starting to get curious about slide film. Ive read a lot
about the different slide films but I was wondering about provia. I
have read that Astias lower contrast make it a better potrait film but
I was so blown away by the good general opinions of provia I went out
C-41 Black & White film25 Jul 2003 04:28 GMT3
Is C-41 B&W film truly a  B&W film just like
the non C-41 or is it inferior. I have never seen
a print.
In years gone by I used to develop and print my own
5 to 3 years old film (positive), still useable23 Jul 2003 22:38 GMT11
In 1998 I purchased a few packs of 4 x 5 professional Fuji and Kodak,
one or two packs  more in 1999, and I found a pack dated 2000. Kept the
lot in the fridge only for one year or so. I know it's a shame, but I
was not able to use it, c'est la vie!  I am advised to throw it all
Q:Outdated film23 Jul 2003 21:32 GMT4
I was thinking of buying a lot of outdated film on Ebay. Almost every lot
says the films have been stored cold and should be working properly, but I
am a bit skeptical. What can I expect from this outdated film? How much
outdated can it be before it's unusable? Is the expiration ...
is it the negative or the print?23 Jul 2003 17:08 GMT5
My wife is an amatuer photographer.  When we went to buy Fuji
Reala film at a Wolf Camera they talked her into buy Fuji NPS 160.  We
went to Hawaii and had a one-hour photo lab develop the prints to
avoid any chance of damaging the film in Xray machines on the way
?? for Pro Photographers21 Jul 2003 19:27 GMT7
Hi, I'm very curious as to how many "paid" photographers have gone strictly
digital?
Do any wedding photographers shoot only digital?
If shooting both film and digital, which one gets the higher priority?
