There seems to be a polarisation in the market between DSLRs, which
apart from interchangeable lenses exploit the quality advantages of
physically big sensors, and P&S, which exploit the small camera and
lens size advantages of small sensors.

I have reason to suspect that my charger is going belly up or that all
my batteries are sufferin' the same fate.
Any suggestions on reliable replacements?

Kind of a Newbie question on sensor size.
What is the difference between,  1/2.5 " or 1/1.6 " or 1/1.8 " on non-slr's
or 4/3" or 23.7 x 15.6 mm on a Nikon.  Do more or bigger sensors necessarily
mean better pictures? and If so,  why? thanks
