The G7 camera is due to be released in November.  
Can I safely assume that the "G" series is the most
sophistocated P&S that Canon markets?

I've had one to use for a couple weeks now, and overall the features are
great, but I'm becoming unhappy with:
-soft pics -- turning up sharpness etc introduces others factors
-fringing at telephoto lenths on brighter objects

I have just found a site publishing examples of the FZ50 output and am,
frankly, disappointed.

There has been some ongoing discussion about noise in digital pics and the
general assumption is that it is a "bad thing". Camera manufacturers work
hard to eliminate it, as discussed in the recent posts over the FZ30.

Just bought the SP500UZ and one strange thing about it is no matter which
image size setting I have it on when I download the photos to Microgrfx the
resolution is 72 dpi (even at SHQ 2816 x 2112) were as the Nikon 4100 is
300dpi.

Photokina is coming soom.  Canon announced new models and Nikon
announced the D80.  Is the Panasonic FZ7 due to be replace around
Photokina time or is this model going to go for another year.  Anybody
read anything about it.
