Fuji blows It30 Jul 2005 00:37 GMT4
Can you believe Fuji is coming out with a 9MP S9000 Point and Shoot
(claiming to be a DSLR) with the 35mm EQV of a 28mm to 300mm lens that
has NO image stabilization.  Sounds like they missed the boat.
Olympus 8080 vs. Panasonic FZ20 ??25 Jul 2005 01:17 GMT3
I've narrowed down my decision between the two cameras. I like the
Olympus because of the 8mp and the quality seems to be good, but the
zoom isn't quite there. I like the Panasonic because of the zoom but
it's only 5mp. I do some cropping but not too much and I do like to do
Little noise inside my new Minolta Z10 ?18 Jul 2005 18:05 GMT9
When I shake my new Minolta Z10 from back to front and front to back, I ear
a little noise inside, just like a piece of plastic travelling inside (it
seems to be near the viewfinder, but it's dificult to locate...)
I borrough about that...
Panasonic reliability??18 Jul 2005 17:19 GMT1
I read all of the posts in the "comparitive results Canon S2 vs. Pan FZ5"
thread because I too am going to buy one of them. I noticed that no one
brought up the subject of construction and reliability. I'm leaning toward
the Panasonic, but everything I've bought with that brand name ...

Megapixel envy?12 Jul 2005 16:41 GMT3
Everything I've read about the Panasonic Lumix FZ5, FZ20, and the Canon
Powershot S2 IS -- indicates a fairly high degree of noise above ISO
100. I think this comes from the signal-to-noise issue of trying to
cram 5MPs of data onto the same 1/2.5 sensor that Panasonic has used as

shutters & apertures?08 Jul 2005 07:35 GMT3
Hi Group,
I just bought a new Panasonic FZ5, and I was wondering if digital cameras
still have apertures and shutters, as the owners manual still refers to
them. I've heard that the click we hear when we push the button is just
best camera for niteclub band07 Jul 2005 12:19 GMT3
Any recommendations for the best digital for shooting a live band in a
niteclub setting? I would prefer a superzoom.
Thanks,

Conversion lenses for the Olympus 808007 Jul 2005 02:16 GMT6
Thanks for all your help in the past. I now have the Olympus 8080 and am
happy with it -- enough to use as a P&S when I want to and can play with
it when I want to learn more about shooting. I do have a question about
conversion lenses.
Canon A8006 Jul 2005 21:54 GMT1

S2 or FZ2003 Jul 2005 15:03 GMT4
A simple question (and please don't try to read read between the lines or
read more into it).
Take away the bells and whistles and using the cameras best settings, what
one takes the best photo at extreme telephoto the Canon S2 or the Panasonic
