Time has come to upgrade my old Nikon Coolpix 995. It isn't so much the 3 MP as the shutter lag that I'm fed up with. I originally thought of geting a DSLR, but I have decided that I can wait for a couple of new models still of those, and by a zlr while I wait.

I'm trying to figure out what is the best wide-angle Digital ZLR currently available. Specifically, I would like to purchase a 6+ Mega-pixel ZLR that can shoot (with a wide-angle adapter) as wide as a 35mm film camera with an 18mm lens.

Hi everyone!! Glad to see the group up and running. :) My first digital camera (a Canon S230 point & shoot) is great, but I'm ready to buy something with a bigger zoom range than my current 2X, more user control settings, and a camera that is easier to hold on to.
