| Olympus E510 has poor dynamic range? Not any more. | 29 Aug 2008 22:41 GMT | 51 |
With this software I can create photos that have way more dynamic range than your expensive Nikon and Canon cameras. Well, once I learn how to use it properly I can. I will be churning out photos that surpasse your expnesive Nikon's capability on my cheapy Olympus E510 in no time ...

The new Nikon D90, retailing for approx. $1000 in the USA, can also do movies with sound. This means you can use your Nikon lenses from Micro to Telephoto and shoot digital videos as well as still images.

| Canon announces EF-S 18-200 IS | 29 Aug 2008 22:16 GMT | 71 |
Finally Canon has a lens to compete with the Nikon 18-200 VR. Hopefully it'll be better than the Nikon lens which has been panned for build quality and distortion at the wide end. I think it'll be like the 10-22 EF-s, praised for its L quality optics, but not for its build ...

| Sony A100 Focusing Issues/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ | 29 Aug 2008 20:51 GMT | 5 |
I have a Sony A100 with a Tamron AF 18-250/3.5-6.3 DI II Macro Lens with a UV filter on the face to keep from scratching the lens face. I have been playing with this camera for months and still can't seem to get the clarity in the pictures that I'd expect. The colors seem to

| Nikon D90 announced, also 18-105 DX lens | 29 Aug 2008 20:28 GMT | 10 |
Hands-on preview is on DPReview. Numerous improvements over the D80 it replaces. 12.2 megapixels, self cleaning sensor, faster frame rate, movie mode, Live View, better autofocus, scene recognition, etc. In fact, this camera compares more closely to the D300 than it does the

| Lens hoods | 29 Aug 2008 20:27 GMT | 7 |
During the Olympics, there were lots of pictures, both on TV and on the Internet, of the hordes of photographers covering the games. There was a lot of expensive glass in those pictures. On close examination of many of these pictures I could not find one photographer that was using ...

| D300 or D700? | 29 Aug 2008 14:13 GMT | 102 |
I'm thinking of getting in the wedding photography and similar business. But I can't see what would be better: D300 or the D700. FF seems solid, but it's a lot more money and the lens compatibility is lower. Would the D700 really perform much better than the D300 in terms of high ...

| Canon 50D announced, no 7D yet | 29 Aug 2008 13:32 GMT | 37 |
Perhaps the 7D tomorrow. But the 50D is up on dpreview. 15 megapixels, 3" VGA monitor, faster processor. Plus a new 18-200mm IS lens to go with it. This will be a great amateur camera. Just whets our appetite to see the 7D. And I am a Nikon fan!

| Dpreview so in bed with Canon they should be married | 29 Aug 2008 02:37 GMT | 16 |
I posted asking why there was no "pixel density" figure for the new 50D posted, Dpreview made a big deal of coming up with this as a standard figure included in the specifications table. So, now Canon releases a 15 megapixel camera, all of a sudden, they don't post the

| Capture NX is Painfully Slow | 28 Aug 2008 23:52 GMT | 23 |
The Nikon Capture NX is software I received with my D3 is painfully slow. (I suspect that this is, in part, because it is based on .net .) Can anyone suggest an alternative with at least comparable

| Hood for Tokina 12-24 f/4 | 28 Aug 2008 04:05 GMT | 11 |
I lost the original hood for my Tokina AT-X 124 AF Pro Dx lens. I think the original hood was model BH-777. B&H has a hood and that model number is BH-779. Does anyone know what the difference between those two hoods are? Anyone know where I can find the BH-777? I've

| Old news: Sigma 50/1.4 | 28 Aug 2008 01:20 GMT | 6 |
There is a two page "article" (actually an extended ad by Sigma) on this lens in one of this month's Japanese camera magazines. It's bigger, heavier, and more expensive than the 50/1.4 lenses made by Nikon and Canon and everyone else, so what gives?
