View question23 Jul 2008 23:45 GMT10
I know that full frame DSLRs have a bigger and better view thru the lens than a
DX type DSLR, but if you put a DX lens on say a D700 and it goes to crop mode,
is the view reduced to that of maybe a D300 or D80?
Just curious...
How to display photos?23 Jul 2008 20:23 GMT21
I have an Olympus E500 and I'm happy with the results I'm getting.
However, it's all very well looking at the results on my computer screen but
I'd like to share them with other people.   So far the following options
have come to mind.
Dimensions of K20D?23 Jul 2008 03:45 GMT4
I'm preparing to order a Pentax K20D, but I want to get a case at the
same time. I like the holster types and what I've found should fit the
camera with my existing lenses just fine. Thing is I would like to get
the DA* 16-50mm lens down the road for the faster autofocus and
Medium format increases size while DSLRs languish23 Jul 2008 03:33 GMT44
Stuck like GLUE to an ancient format and sensors size.  "I remember,
cough, cough, when Leica first came out with the 35mm...."

Call me a guy with a growing interest for photography as a pass-time.
When my P&S died last fall, I decided to lay out what I could afford
for a decent camera.  I bought a Nikon D80 with a couple of kit

dpreview pixel density metric21 Jul 2008 06:27 GMT29
I just noticed that dpreview have finally added a pixel density metric
which could save some time when comparing cameras.
However they express it as pixels / cm^2.
I just wrote them a spot of feedback recommending that they do it as
Photo directory Software20 Jul 2008 16:20 GMT4
Does anyone know of a free or very reasonable software for making Church
directories?  Google turns up the same software on every hit, same with a
different name.  This ends up costing $100.00, I can afford the investment
right now.  Thanks blah

Crazy lens prices20 Jul 2008 04:02 GMT25
So far there were 7 bidders on an "as is" Nikon 28mm f2.8 Manual lens
with scratch and fungus. So far up to $89.
Some time back another person sold a lens that was soaked in sea water
and so badly corroded that the seller said "no useable parts for this
Receptor dust?18 Jul 2008 04:54 GMT6
I have a small round circle in my pictures that appears in the same place
with different lenses. When the spot is un the sky, it is a darker blue than
the area around it but it is still blue. Is this an indication that I have
dust on my receptor?

I've searched the archive, and it looks like the Hoya R72 is the favorite,
and oft recommended in this group.  But then I found this thread on APUG:

[Dust] Blow job defeat17 Jul 2008 14:05 GMT16
For the first time since early 2005 I'll have to get my sensor (Maxxum
7D) 'wet cleaned' as my half dozen attempts with a blower simply won't
get a few stubborn specs off of the sensor.
Local camera store does it over a 3 day period (or 24 hours for a rush
