Digital Rebel AC adapter kit08 Jun 2008 00:35 GMT1
I have owned a Digital Rebel XTI camera for about a year now.  This
camera has been very loyal to me under normal shooting conditions.  I
have started to get into time lapse photography and have made the
realization that I will need some form of AC power.  I have been

Time lapse photography - looking for Mac program06 Jun 2008 13:35 GMT4
I have just started to experiment with time lapse photography.  I was
able to shoot a few brief time lapse videos with my camera using a
friends PC laptop.  We used this program from Breeze systems:

50-year-old Zeiss SLR06 Jun 2008 11:08 GMT12
Just put up a page about my latest toy (sold on eBay this week), the
Zeiss Ikon Contaflex, with one sample image each from the three lenses.
I really don't feel I was able to get the best from the scanned print
of the stormy sky, but it was a "one hour photo" cheapo, and my ...
Nikon D200 Battery question05 Jun 2008 23:17 GMT6
I recent bought a used Nikon D200 from an acquaintance who had recently
upgraded to a D300. Great camera, I'm having a lot of fun with it. I've
already had a D50 for a couple of years.
The D50 uses a type of Li-Ion battery called the EN-EL3. The D200 uses a
Now that "hybrid aspheres" are avail, where's the cheap "Noct     Nikkors?"05 Jun 2008 17:50 GMT18
Could it BE that the PLASTIC part of the lens cannot be made
accurately enough (certainly not as well as a glass part) and thus
they can't produce a modern Noct?
Kind of reminds me of the plastic used in camera bodies "engineering
Sigma DP-1 review on dpreview, pretty decent output at low ISOs05 Jun 2008 16:33 GMT11
Amazing resolution for it's actual pixel count.  Much wider DR than
the cheaper Olympus DSLRs.  Too bad about the colour weirdness at
higher ISOs, but it would be interesting to see resolution if that
chip was scaled to 1.5 or FF.
Nikon 85mm f/1.4 sharpness05 Jun 2008 10:11 GMT25
I finally bought the Nikon 85mm f/1.4 lens and for about a week now, I
wasn't too impressed with the sharpness.  My 80-200mm f/2.8 and
35-70mm f/2.8 lenses seemed sharper.
I thought that there must be something wrong with my new lens until I

Low light comparative Pics?05 Jun 2008 01:38 GMT5
I am looking for images that show the same indoor (or low light) scene
taken with a DSLR and a P&S cam. Obviously without flash. The purpose
is to examine the difference in noise levels as a result of the larger
sensor - so the aperture and shutter speeds also have to be the same.
Tamron 90mm Macro (Nikon mount)05 Jun 2008 00:49 GMT18
I picked this up (they were completely out of Nikor micro lenses) on
the weekend.  So far, I'm thoroughly enjoying it :).
Anyone have pros/cons for this lens that I should know about?  Foibles
and the like?
Nikon SB-600 Speedlight - Battery Recommendations04 Jun 2008 23:18 GMT21
I have a D70s and am considering the Nikon SB-600 Speedlight since the
camera will fire the remote speedlight. I will need  rechargeable
batteries and a charger. What type of battery or charger would you
recommend? Thanks,
