D80 question: I'm completely new17 Jun 2008 21:58 GMT13
Hi, I just baught a Nikon D80 and it's my first SLR.  My question is: When
I take pictures, the total white or black parts of my pictures blink.
Could someone please tell me if this is able to be turned off?  I have
looked at the manual, but don't even know what to look up.  It ...
Is this a good dslr?17 Jun 2008 21:05 GMT23
How can DPReview make the comments below about a camera which isn't very
good, yet still give it a "recommended" rating?
If performance of a camera is summed up by image quality and ergonomics,
and a camera fails to perform on both, surely they should give it a "not
Sony A350 - brilliant for film grain effect17 Jun 2008 18:23 GMT12
I use the A350 for very high res stock shots, and contrary to whatever
any reports based on JPEG processing in-camera may say, it's a useful
tool in this context. Relative to a 6 megapixel DSLR (I don't use one
any more except in the studio for magazine product shots) it is ...
Query on lens ... what really are those numbers?17 Jun 2008 08:19 GMT12
I am a newbie and am trying to understand the various tech
specs.
Before that, I have bought myself a Nikon D60 with the basic kit lens
(18-55mm F3.5-5.6).
Dirty sensonsor. Don't you hate that?17 Jun 2008 05:01 GMT6
Or perhaps this never happens to you?
I made today almost 200 pictures. Every one has two sensor dirt spots in the
same place.
There will be lot of fixing in CS3.
Macro equipment: Good close-up lens vs. macro lens16 Jun 2008 21:29 GMT23
I've got an interest in macro photography that sort of waxes and
wanes. So far, I've been using a really cheap set of close-up lenses
(+1/2/4/10, made by a company called Sonia, ~$20) on my Canon 18-55
and 75-300 USM, as well as a reversing ring to attach my 50mm to the

Nikon D40 / D50 prime lens14 Jun 2008 21:30 GMT5
Hi, quick question at the moment I'm using a sigma 30mm f1.4 on my D40
which I really like. The wide aperture is the thing which I use the
most. I do have a 50mm lens but it's AF-D and wont autofocus with my
D40. So I was thinking of selling my D40 and getting an older D50
