The old Sony Multiscan G500 21-inch CRT beast gasped it's last breaths
tonight with a few flickers, fading to a dim blue image, after months of
epileptic degaussing fits. I think it was about 10 years old & served me
well.

Can any of you guys recommend a good begineers tripod for someone
wanting to get steadier shots? I mainly taking nature type pictures
quite close up and low down to interesting features such as tree roots

In the earlier post about image manipulation of raw files by the
camera mfgs, I mentioned a softening of detail seen relative to other,
earlier models.  While this is the case (IMO) with the K20D compared
to the K10D, take a look at the high ISO files and the detail retained

After converting one of my Nikon D70 cameras to infrared only, I took a
quick shot at the Lion's Park at the end of my street to see the results.

At present I use my HP printer to download my photos to the Computer,
Store them in Image Expert, and Edit them in either Picassa or Adobe
Elements 6 and often then use other software such as Nero to burn the
pics to a CD or DVD.
