Anyone using this or similar carbon fiber tripods? Would you recommend
this light a tripod for, say, a Nikon D200 with a 4.5 lb (2 kg) lens on
it?
In-camera stabilization or in-lens?04 May 2008 22:12 GMT44
Which is preferable (since I only have hand-held stabilization and it's kind
of shaky.)

Has anybody figured out how to use ISO 100 in a 40D?04 May 2008 17:00 GMT17
The subject line says it all.
I swapped my D300 with a 40D for a while on Saturday and was dumbfounded
at the thing. I got rid of all my Canon gear and bought Nikon earlier
this year so it was a step back in time for me to hold a familiar camera

Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II AF04 May 2008 09:19 GMT16
(Are those enough letters?)
Looks like just the ticket for a fast mid-range zoom, and at a very nice
price.

DPP crash with 40D CRWs ?03 May 2008 15:54 GMT9
Just got anew 40D and it's great. Fantastic color, sharpness, etc. But the
software is not so great. After I installed it, it keeps crashing with
folders that have any CRW file in it. Anybody have an idea?
Thanks.
Fuji bails out of DSLRs completely?03 May 2008 15:08 GMT18
This, according to a guy who attended the PMA show in Toronto and
posted to the Fuji DSLR group on Dpreview.  The remaining S5s will be
dumped off at $1000/ea.  Interestingly, they decided not to release an
entry-level DSLR and instead released a smaller sensored superzoom at
70-200VR performance on Fx03 May 2008 12:18 GMT12

Seems the beloved (on Dx) and expensive 70-200VR is a casualty.  Many
posts on DPReview about this - many in denial mode ("it's a PJ lens - so
what if the corners aren't sharp?" etc).
Phase One Software.  Am I Missing Something?02 May 2008 19:21 GMT19
Am I missing something with Phase One software?
I like to keep my software to the minimum, but Phase One seems to be
popular.  I suppose Lightroom is also popular, but I am not sure what they
can do that PS can't?
Sensor Noise? Is there clear superiority?01 May 2008 21:12 GMT35
A lot of discussion of sensor noise. Touting one camera over another.
Are there actual studies with comparison photos that prove there is
clearly superior performance of one camera over another?
