My next lens...20 Apr 2008 20:00 GMT8
Have a look at the seventh photo on the following website.  This is a
really cool photo of my next purchase.  The Nikon 85mm f/1.4 lens.
I've read so many reviews of this lens and I have yet to find anyone
who has anything bad to say about it.
Wore out my D200 shutter, apparently19 Apr 2008 20:10 GMT73
89,736 shutter actuations in just under 2 years (1 year warranty) and I
apparently wore my D200 shutter out. Here's the description of the
problem I'm sending with it to Nikon for repair:
'Blinking "Err" message every other shot. Attempting to click makes a

Canon 40D, Xsi or just keep my XT?18 Apr 2008 23:13 GMT20
I currently own a Canon Rebel XT with an 18-55mm lens and a 100-300mm lens
(a Canon cheapie). I am an amateur photographer taking sports pictures and
travel pictures. I am looking for ways to help the economy grow by spending
my "stimulus" check when it comes next month. The 40D ...

Sony Alpha questions18 Apr 2008 18:34 GMT4
Because of a shoulder injury (torn tendon) that won't be going away soon, I
decided to sell my D300 with all extras and get a smaller, lighter camera
instead. I stumbled on the Sony A350 and I was pleasantly surprised with the
14 MP, tilting LCD and fast AF.
D300 with SB-11 flash???18 Apr 2008 17:00 GMT4
I know what you're thinking. But I've already got an SB-800 and a Quantum
T2(getting mod'ed for D300 and wireless use). Anyway, from the days of yore
I've got two SB-11 units that I love and even though I've successfully
connected to the Coolpix 5000 and gotten great results with ...
D80 questions.18 Apr 2008 06:17 GMT54
I've just picked up my D80 and am having some fun with it.
Is there something I should try that the D80 is particularly good
at? Qwirks I should watch out for?
It has the latest firmware and no, I'm not going to drop it in the
Battery Charger Voltage18 Apr 2008 04:49 GMT6
My Nikon Quick Charger MH-22 is rated for:
  AC 100-240V 50/60Hz.
I assume that this means I can use it in
Europe, and I will need only a mechanical

What fluid for fire ?18 Apr 2008 00:02 GMT36
What kind of fluid can I use for a ring or stripe of fire in sand? I tried
alcohol but it's gone before I can start my lighter.
Maybe lighter fluid? Petroleum, ether? I want a nice looking fire without
big clouds of black smoke, so diesel is not an option.
Nikon D300 sensor question17 Apr 2008 19:34 GMT16
Does anyone know the exact sensor (pixel area part) dimensions and pixel
sizes of the sensor used in the Nikon D300? I want to try and work out the
field of view I will get if I attach it to my telescope. (It's effectively a
2500mm f/10 lens....)

Sharpening question17 Apr 2008 15:35 GMT5
What sharpening tool do you use?
Smart sharper or unsharp mask? Aren't these two option the same?
I use Unsharp Mask and I notice that you can achieve two different
interesting results.
