Lets talk about noise. No I mean camera making noise.30 Apr 2008 15:13 GMT22
I'm, I guess, what would honestly be considered an advanced amateur
photographer. Now I do mostly bird photos. I have gotten my approach
to the point that I get quite close to some birds and with some good
lens I'm able to get what I consider great shots. But with the sound
Nikon lets 24.4mp D3x out of the bag29 Apr 2008 01:18 GMT68
The Nikon D3 latest firmware release has clear reference to 6048x4032
pixel size option, and "D3X" name in the code.
Of course it could just be Nikon's programmers version of a practical
joke ;-0
Resolution II:  The variations in testing29 Apr 2008 01:00 GMT4
So, now the resolution tests I've seen have indicated:
The 14 meg. Pentax K20D has "roughly" the same real resolution as
Nikon's 12 meg D300.
The A350 Sony (14 meg) has lower resolution than either the Pentax or
2/3" sensor P&S as a DSLR killer?28 Apr 2008 23:52 GMT3
Nikon D60 gets it's clock cleaned.  Olympus 4/3rds would lose big
time.  Noise for the 2/3rds is still high, but detail is amazing.
Unfortunately, you get the normal horrible chromatic aberration that
all superzoom P&Ss have.  There is just so much money they can put

colour pictures, someone must be making a

This would involve a camera with 3 (or more)

Post pics from a Sony A70028 Apr 2008 00:56 GMT5
I'm thinking of buying an alpha700 to replace my Minolta d5. I assume
the pictures will be sharper, but I don't know if they'll be $1000
sharper!
Does anyone have an a700 that would be willing to email me a high
10-22mm27 Apr 2008 14:25 GMT32
People say that 10-22 is good for landscaping and architecture. I understand
the aspect of doing architecture shots, being close to the object standing
on narrow city roads.
When comes to landscaping. I do landscaping using say 18mm and everything
Sony software problem25 Apr 2008 18:13 GMT1
In Image Data Converter, the second palette (with DRO) won't show up. No
matter what I try. Does anyone have a solution?
There is no update available.
Custom white balance25 Apr 2008 07:27 GMT8
I'm using a Canon Rebel XT.  If I set a custom white balance, and then shoot
raw will the raw file retain the custom white balance settings?   Thanks

Editing in CS3 and EXIF data25 Apr 2008 04:12 GMT6
When editing and saving in CS3, many componets of EXIF data are lost (i.e
focal lenght)
Maybe there is and option in CS3 preferences to keep focal lenght but I
couldn't find.
