We are all in quest of true happiness.  In this world, the idea of

I'm very close to purchasing a Nikon D40 - my first SLR. My interest
is birds and wildlife so a high zoom is essential.
My questions are:
1. Will a 300mm lens and a 1.7x teleconverter give me 510mm zoom?

I just got about 15 pictures in my computer that were shot on a friend's
camera and unknowingly he had his camera on 2009. I need to change that to
2008.
