Sigma DP-1, buy a DSLR instead07 Feb 2008 19:36 GMT23
It's NOT portable in the least sense. Given that, a good DSLR makes
far more sense.

Finally ready to buy my first DSLR, and its gone! ( K10D)07 Feb 2008 02:27 GMT6
I recently received a nice bonus and was going to finally bite the
proverbial bullet and get a DSLR. I had debated between the reduced
price Canon 30D and the Pentax K10D, deciding to go with the K10D
because then I can get body only for now, as I already have several

Hello everyone.  In December I went out and bought the Canon 40D and a
couple of lenses to go with it (ok, it was a "Kit" purchase so technically I
only bought one additional lens :).  Anyway, as I practice and experiment
with the camera I found myself wondering if the Skylight ...

I've noticed that Nikon has been releasing new lenses and was
wondering if a new 50mm is in the pipeline. Maybe a 50mm f/1.4 G or
something similar.

Sigma vs Canon05 Feb 2008 12:20 GMT6
My current optics are Canon 24-105/4 IS and Sigma 100-300/4.
I was wondering to change that. To sell Sigma and to buy Canon 70-200/4 IS.
I see that this lens beats Canon 70-200/2.8 with/without IS version in
optical quality. Is this visible in normal use?

Enet sales,Nikon D300 Bait & Switch04 Feb 2008 18:16 GMT7
I have attempted to purchase a Niikon D300 from 4 different Enet
Advertisers.  Each time they take my order, they respond with multiple
combinations that far exceed their original Advertised Quote.  On one
occassion w/ Bestpricecameras.com, I was told the order would be

The pictures are NOT in my Recycle Bin.
D300 and 40d04 Feb 2008 13:51 GMT1
Are there any low light comparison shots available of the D300 and the 40d?
I'm interested in seeing both in 800+ ISO, especially something around
1600-3200.
Anything available online that has the same subject being shot by both

Read this, regarding the new Sony Live View implementation:
. Live view has rapidly gone from being a one-brand technology to a
mainstream feature - so rapidly in fact that it isn't yet a single
technology - every manufacturer has their own idea of how it should
