USB remote shutter release11 Jan 2008 23:56 GMT20
A few recent discussions about remote shutter releases got me thinking.
There is the old-fashioned ball and mechanical cable release -> obsolete in
today's electronic world.
There are the infrared remotes which are inexpensive and work great when
RAW and sharpening11 Jan 2008 16:40 GMT6
If shooting just RAW is there any reason to have in camera sharpening
on? Seems sort of pointless to me.
gads photo shop11 Jan 2008 16:24 GMT10
I just tried to install photoshop CS3 full version
Everything went fine until I typed the license key in and got told I had
paid full price for an upgrade.
There is actually nothing to say that it was an upgrade on the box.
Fill-flash with EOS digital11 Jan 2008 02:24 GMT5
I have many problems with my EOS 30D and the 5D when using flash outdoor : I
always have blown out background as if the metering system tends to consider
only the darkest part of the scene.
Do you have the same issue, and can you give me some advice to get perfect
Olympus E-3 given very low rating in "Amateur Photographer" review10 Jan 2008 16:09 GMT33
The UK magazine "Amateur Photographer" is well known for its detailed
and objective reviews of cameras and lenses.
In the January 5 issue there is a review of the Olympus E-3.  The
overall rating given was 82%, which is one of the lowest ratings ever
Tamron 18-250 + Sony A-100 = What kind of filter????10 Jan 2008 15:16 GMT8
I have my new Tamron 18-250 lens running great with my Sony Alpha
A-100 but I would like to buy a filter to protect the face of the
lens.  My question is what would be the best type of filter to get
that could enhance the picture quality while protecting my lens?

Now I'm confused again - 40D - D30009 Jan 2008 16:43 GMT26
I had my mind set on the 40D mostly based on comparison pictures next to the
D200 on various websites.
Then I started thinking perhaps I could manage, financially, getting the
D300.
New photo printer09 Jan 2008 15:02 GMT21
I want to replace my old HP PhotoSmart 7150 with something smaller,
neater, a built-in scanner, and very importantly, better output.
The PhotoSmart's OK, but not brilliant.
The model I was considering was the Canon Pixma MP970, but I'm not
Bad Photo with Santa or Bunny (Taken by Noerr)?09 Jan 2008 00:50 GMT3

looking like crap? The photo might have been taken by the Noerr

How do I change aspect ratio of photos in Sony DSLR A-100K?08 Jan 2008 02:04 GMT63
I own a Sony DSLR A-100K camera, and the aspect ratio of the photographs is
not the same as the aspect ratio of the LCD screen. When I view images on
the  camera monitor, I have a black horizontal bar above and below the
picture. I would like the picture to occupy the entire ...
Which Nikon lens?08 Jan 2008 01:16 GMT13
I'm a little confused by the stories and tests on the net: which lens is
better. the 18-70mm or the 18-135mm?
Some say one, some say the other.
I know the 18-70 has metal connection, but I don't care.
In life it seems there are two kinds of people.08 Jan 2008 00:36 GMT13
Just as there are people who see a bottle and say it is half full, others
see it as half empty.
In this NG it seems that there are people Pro Olympus cameras and others who
are anti Olympus, or any other brand of camera or subject for that matter.
Should I buy the D80 or wait for the D300?07 Jan 2008 23:15 GMT45
I sold my D70...
I have lots of Nikon lenses so I will stay with Nikon, but which one...
Now the 300 costs twice the 80, but is it worth it?
Any reasons you have for picking one over the other would be appreciated!
