Nikon 18-200mm VR lens query31 Jan 2008 15:18 GMT36
Hi, I've been using a Nikon D40 for a while and have since bought a
55-200mm VR lens. This seemed to be quite good value but I'm starting
to think it might have been better to spend the extra and get the
18-200mm VR lens. So I could effectively do away with the 18-55 kit
Rebel XSI31 Jan 2008 15:09 GMT6
Won't be out until April sometime, and my 90 return of the XTI
will be up end of March.  What do I do?
Ritz is offering it for $899 including the 18-55mm SI lens on
backorder.  No idea when Sam's or Costco will have them in.

Tsuneji Uchida told a press conference.
Odd used Nikon lens prices30 Jan 2008 20:44 GMT4
This was at a local store.
Newish 20mm AF.  $400.  Old manual model, $700.00.  180mm ED AF model,
composite body, $500, old manual focus unit $795.00.  Do the old
manual focus units have some "aura" or are they better in some way?
When will the Canon EOS Rebel XSI be available?30 Jan 2008 11:43 GMT2
I see that Ritz Camera is taking orders, but no availability  dates.
Pentax K20D30 Jan 2008 07:37 GMT23
This was announced last Wednesday.  I haven't seen any postings about
it on here, so I thought I would post one today.
The K20D is based on the excellent K10D.  Where it differs is in its
14.6 MP Samsung CMOS sensor and Live View.  There is also a dynamic
D200 and flash trigger voltage30 Jan 2008 05:36 GMT12
Does anybody know if the Photogenic Powerlight 1500SL trigger voltage is
too high for the Nikon D200?
Olympus E-510/E-3 now do IS with manual lenses.30 Jan 2008 03:49 GMT4
A common complaint about the Olympus in-body IS system was that they
didn't enable its use with older manual lenses (like Pentax allowed on
its DSLRs).  With today's firmware, the E-3 and E-510 now have that
ability.
Megapixel war just beginning with DSLRs30 Jan 2008 03:44 GMT17
Pentax K20D, 1.5 crop and 15 megapixels, now Sony??  I've got to
admit, a 25 megapixel 1.5 crop camera would be hilarious.

D60/D30029 Jan 2008 21:15 GMT2
How many D80/D200 users are going to go for or sit out this upgrade cycle?
I thought it would take until late spring for this sensor to be pushed down
to lower priced camera bodies.
Nikon D40 and extension tubes29 Jan 2008 16:27 GMT4
I've bought a cheap set of extension tubes on eBay to use with my
Nikon D40. There are no electronic connections but I thought they
would they would work on full aperture and manual focus.
All I'm getting is a warning 'Lens not conencted' and the shutter
Canon finally dumps HORRIBLE Rebel body!29 Jan 2008 14:37 GMT69
As ugly and revolting as the GM X-Car of the 1980s, Canon has finally
dispensed with the old Rebel body, giving it's entry-level camera what
looks like a decent body.  It looks like a smaller D30-40.

Rate Olympus28 Jan 2008 21:25 GMT16
I rarely see any discussion on dSLRs from Olly. Would anyone recommend
the e410/510 as a first SLR for someone (not a noob to photography)? I
like the fact that it has inbody stabilisation. How do the lenses rate
