Hey Olympus!  See "PENTAX" for how to do firmware upgrades15 Dec 2007 01:21 GMT22
Your marketing stinks, your firmware upgrade method stinks, etc.
Pentax:  Download file, copy to SD card, install in camera.  4 minutes.
Nikon D3 now the pinnacle of DSLR image quality14 Dec 2007 23:00 GMT79
According to every report on this thing I've seen.  Even at 6400 ISO.

The law in the United States of America is pretty simple. You are
allowed to photograph anything with the following exceptions:
* Certain military installations or operations.
Canon EF-S 18-2?? IS14 Dec 2007 13:50 GMT10
Nikon has the 18-200 DX VR, Pentax has the 18-250 ED ... do you think Canon
will bring out something with IS in the 18-200-and-something range anytime
soon?
Olympus:  The ugly reality13 Dec 2007 20:22 GMT8
Despite dollops of noise filtering inherent in the JPEGs (set to
normal, you can turn it off) and despite the "tests" of various
sources, a 4 year old Nikon still bests it.

Duracell Rechargeable AA/HR6/DC1500 NuMH/1.2v13 Dec 2007 18:53 GMT6
I don't know how many of you are using these anymore.  Most of you use
the rechargeable batteries that come with your cameras.  I use them
for the F5 and the SB28.
As I have said in previous posts, it takes forever to charge these

P&S Recommendation13 Dec 2007 14:31 GMT3
As a member of this group, I'm hoping it's not out of line to ask for a
recommendation for a basic P&S digital camera as a holiday gift. Nothing too
ostentatious - $100 -$200 price range. The person's not into photography per
se, but would appreciate the opportunity to take a few ...
Canon 40D "kit" with EF 28-135 f/3.5 -5.6 USM lens?13 Dec 2007 04:19 GMT12
Hello all.  I am getting ready to visit family in the USA (California) and
am thinking seriously of buying the Canon 40D.  With the exchange rate so
good (at least, in my favor...the Euro is about 1.48 dollars), it's
definitely time to trade up.

Nikon SB-800 Flash..13 Dec 2007 01:39 GMT3
so I have this killer-flash now, for my Nikon D80 (SB-800)
I would like to know two things: is there any kind of warning when the
batteries are running low?
I can't open compartment where batteries go, whether I try to slide it
What is the point of the "overhang" on DSLRs?12 Dec 2007 21:40 GMT11
Many seem to have something akin to the protruding brow on a
prehistoric ape species.  Is it needed?  It seems to make them bulkier
than they could be, defeating the purpose of a pancake lens.
