Nikon software not tested?27 Dec 2007 17:33 GMT8
So Capture NX is slow and crashes now and then. NX transfer crashes
regularly and doesn't even permit you to download photos. After playing with
the Camera Control Pro software with the D300, I'm sad to say, even this is
crashing.

Nikon D200 and non-AI lenses25 Dec 2007 21:20 GMT2
I've read in the D200 manual and on Nikon's website that non-AI lenses
cannot be used with the D200, but they don't explain why.  Will non-AI
lenses damage the camera in some way?  Can non-AI lenses be used in full
manual mode (manual focus and exposure)?  Has anyone tried it?
Sony's expanded DR function really does seem to work25 Dec 2007 18:51 GMT7
I've used the histogram function in software to lift parts of images

Step-down rings for filters?25 Dec 2007 04:37 GMT13
I've got some 49mm filters that I want to use with a lens that takes 72mm
filters.  I know I'm going to be shooting stopped down all the way to f/22
or smaller.
With a 72-49 step-down ring, this should work fine, right?  As long as I
Lens Cleaning Advice24 Dec 2007 20:10 GMT13
Does anyone have any advice on how to clean the lens on my SLR? I'm just a
newbe and only had my camera for a week but due to close experimentally
shots with water I have now a few splashes on the lens.
I'm in the UK so any kits or whatever from a UK based shop would be helpful.

Relates to issues with the Alpha 700. Adobe fixed the problem with
Olympus E-3 but the A700 remains seriously messed up by ACR 4.3.1

Anybody know of a voltage regulated PC adapter which will allow me to

Sound and other triggers22 Dec 2007 22:58 GMT5
I'd like to try taking photographs of such things as drops of water, or
exploding balloons.
What would you use to capture this with a digital SLR (in my case, a
Pentax K100)?
