Nikon's shame22 Aug 2007 21:50 GMT11
They make some of the most sophisticated semiconductor fabrication
equipment in the World, but they can't afford to build their own fab
or hire the people needed to implement its use!  So they are left to
go hat in hand to Sony for CCDs and CMOS chips.
Olympus...start worrying22 Aug 2007 17:48 GMT8
$2000 for new prosumer.  Meanwhile just LOOK at the specs on this
$1300 Canon!!  Depending on what Nikon announces in two days, this
Canon is THE best spec'd camera at it's pricepoint yet.

update on CD recovery22 Aug 2007 02:22 GMT2
I asked about a "blank" CD a while back.  Googling "CD recovery"

Artifacts on backlit object21 Aug 2007 02:36 GMT3
I shot a flower by lining up the shot so the early morning sun was
directly behind it. Shot raw then converted with ACR then "colorized" a
little using PS Elements.
When examining at 1:1, you can see a "double" line along some parts of the
Stupid magazine test of 1D MkIII21 Aug 2007 02:35 GMT11
I was browsing a magazine test of this thing, and what do they show to
prove how valuable 10fps is?  A guy taking a golf shot.  Fair enough,
a good subject, I remember Nikon's 1970s shot of an jetliner's wheels
frozen at 1/8000th of a second (underexposed), when they brought out
Circular Polarizer/UV Filter Question21 Aug 2007 00:49 GMT53

Is it best to:
a) remove the UV filter that I have on the lens now as protection nad
use just the polarizer,
Who is making the best high-end lenses today?20 Aug 2007 21:48 GMT4
I'm talking mostly about lenses that are at the very top when it comes
to resolution and especially aberration control.  Something like
Olympus's Top Pro line, or Leica or the new Zeiss's we've seen
introduced for Nikon and Sony.
