Flash Card Capacity Changes Based on ISO Setting04 Jul 2007 06:38 GMT11
I have had my Canon Digital Rebel for a year now and I just noticed that the
capacity of my flash card changes if I change the ISO setting. For example,
at ISO 100, the camera readout says I have room for 287 pictures (on my 1GB
flash card). At ISO 1600, the camera says I have ...

Is there any way to adjust the automatic focus on a camera?03 Jul 2007 12:04 GMT4
Mine, an Olympus E500, seems to have AF
optimum focus slightly ahead of the automatic

Can this be compensated for by some
Did Canon buy the pro market?03 Jul 2007 11:36 GMT21
No one would argue that Canon dominates the professional photo
market.  In nearly every field.  Neither would anyone argue that their
cameras aren't at the top of the photo heap when it comes to quality.
But did Canon earn the market via better products, or did they (as
Question about fast lenses (ie, F1.4 or 1,8)03 Jul 2007 04:57 GMT4
Are the really fast lenses really practical for indoor shooting at
gatherings?
I am concerned about the narrow depth-of-field at wide openings, or is
that not really a problem if you don't get one more than about 30mm (ie
Colour for dummies02 Jul 2007 23:12 GMT1
A very straight forward colour lesson for the colour challenged amongst
us... (most notably me).

A Leica story02 Jul 2007 10:10 GMT30
Guy walks into a downtown camera store and says, "I like to trade my
film camera for a credit against a new digital."
Pulls out a Leica R3 in near mint condition, a Summicron 50mm f2 made
in the Midland, Ontario plant, almost mint and a 28mm f2.8 Elmarit,
Pentax K100D: very dim in-viewfinder readout02 Jul 2007 10:07 GMT9
The status information in the viewfinder is very dim - so dim that I
often can't see important information, especially in bright sunlight.
In particular, I use a 28mm Pentax A lens with stop-down metering, so I
really need to see the exposure information in the bottom right.

Strange texture on the bokeh01 Jul 2007 17:58 GMT25
I was playing with getting the biggest OOF circles I could get out of my
'new' old 135mm f/2 lens and noticed an odd effect which I cannot explain:

Help with Canon 580EX flash and 20D please01 Jul 2007 17:07 GMT22
I recently upgraded my flash to a 580 EX and I'm having a problem coming to
grips with the "Sync" speed of the flash. According to the manual which is
vague in detail, I can set the high speed flash to work with AV mode at a
fixed 1/250th second shutter speed.
Compact01 Jul 2007 10:05 GMT11
I use a Nikon D80 & D70 but I'm after a decent compact and have norrowed it
down to Nikon P5000 & Canon A640 (because I want the option of an optical
viewfinder). Any opinions on this.
