Lens for 30D, suggestions?08 Jul 2007 18:25 GMT1
I'm looking to get a lens for my 30D. I _think_ I've narrowed it down
to a couple of lenses.
1. Canon EF-S 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM.
2. Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 DC Macro.

Battery solutions needed08 Jul 2007 01:18 GMT10
I have the Nikon D200 with the Nikon SB800 flash.  What are my options for
extended battery use?  I know Nikon has the multi power battery pack for the
camera that holds 2 EN-EL3e batteries, but I read some bad reviews about it.
Something about clips breaking off that hold the ...

Good Lens/Bad Lens?07 Jul 2007 13:24 GMT6
I am thinking of splashing out on the Canon 70-200 mm f4 USM L lens for my
canon 400d and read a lot of favourable reviews.
A lot of the reviews, however are very excited about having a 'good copy' of
this lens.
How big a lens to flex a plastic body?07 Jul 2007 13:19 GMT33
Someone came into a camera store the other day and traded in his D80
for a D200.  He said he did it because the large zoom (heavy) he was
using was flexing the body outward slightly at the mount.  I think it
was the 80-400mm.  The sales person asked if he was supporting the
Olympus E500 - How to show date on photos07 Jul 2007 09:00 GMT3
Can I take pictures with date showing on them with Olympus E500 SLR
camera?
I can't find that facility. Please let me know if it can be done.
Thanks,
Budget Framing solutions07 Jul 2007 06:25 GMT16
I've spent most of tonight trying to find a purveyor of reasonably
priced frames and mounts.
I want to frame some of my photos but they aren't so good (important)
that I want to spend £30+ I would rather spend around £10
Nikon Exec busted for public intoxication!06 Jul 2007 15:57 GMT1
Oh my!  It had to happen sooner or later!  I just didn't think such a
high-ranking executive would be driven to the breaking point and go over the
edge.  Talk about crash and burn!  I only hope Nikon can recover from this
without too much shame and humiliation.
Sigma F/1.4 lens?06 Jul 2007 14:34 GMT67
Has anyone here used the Sigma 30mm F/1.4 lens? B&H lists it for an arguably
affordable price, accompanied by a few fawning reviews. Is it really that
good? I find myself using my 400D a lot in low light, and I miss the 50mm
F/1.4 on my old Nikon F2.
Canon EOS 400D & Nikon D40x : EOS EF lenses06 Jul 2007 13:57 GMT94
Its time to trade in my film EOS500 35mm SLR. Im looking at the
EOS400D and the D40x. From what I've read, I suspect the D40x just has
the edge.
I'm wondering whether I could usefully re-use my EOS lenses (EF

Lens help04 Jul 2007 20:40 GMT7
I want to get a new lens for my Pentax DSLR (*istDL) to replace the 18-55
f/3.5-5.6 kit lens with something a bit better/faster.  I can spend up to
about 450.00 USD.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Two lenses that
are in my price range are an 18-50 f/2.8 and a 17-70 f/2 ...
Converting to .dng (Nikon .nef)04 Jul 2007 14:35 GMT8
I have a Nikon D70S and shoot in RAW. I use Adobe Elements 5.0 for
editing with the ACR plug-in. Given the rapid change in new cameras
and editing software, does it make sense to convert to the .dng format
or, should I assume Nikon and Adobe will be around for a long time and
Whoever said you can't take a Nikon with you on a blind date?04 Jul 2007 13:06 GMT11
Was right!  I should have listened to them!  It was so humiliating getting
stood up.  Thank goodness I had my old standby to fall back on.
