Nikon D2HS discontinued27 Jul 2007 16:24 GMT5

But no news of any replacement.  In the meantime, I guess a 1DIII that
can't focus is better than a camera that you can't get any more.

Group photos in sunlight26 Jul 2007 05:42 GMT10
I seem to get roped into doing periodic group shots of our company staff,
about 30 people usually.
The only suitable place to stand everyone is on the front steps to the
building, which is south facing, but whenever it is sunny, like today, the

Nikon D80 Multi language manual..Korean25 Jul 2007 11:50 GMT3
Does anyone know where I can get / download the korean manual for the
D80?  I have searched the internet and have come up with empty hands.
It seems the manual is of course copywrited, but I would love to be
able to download it in PDF format.
HELP: Canon Rebel XTi 400D and Old Prostart Lengs Incompatibility?25 Jul 2007 01:49 GMT1
I recently purchased Canon Rebel XTi 400D body hoping to reuse my two old
SLR lenses that I used for several years with my old conventional Rebel. I
am getting very unreliable behavior with the new digital SLR. The two old
lenses are:

Does anyone know how this works?  It can actually electronically
increase the blur in the out of focus areas to improve backgrounds.
Nikon v Canon 500mm?24 Jul 2007 18:54 GMT39
I use a Nikon 500mm F4 ED-EF II lens in conjunction with either a D2Hs
or D2H body and find it absolutely useless for any wildlife
photography in motion. It is barely adequate for sports.
It is quite incapable of tracking any bird in flight and is constantly
Shooting for sharper pictures.."1 / focal length" & Canon 400d..24 Jul 2007 17:21 GMT20
Ok..another noob question...
In all the forums I have read, it suggests that you set your minimum shutter
speed to '1 over the focal length' of your lens in order to get a
steady,sharp photograph.
Tokina lenses24 Jul 2007 08:08 GMT12
Need opinions on Tokina lenses.  I have a Nikon D200 and need to know what
lenses would be best for this camera.  From what I saw on the Tokina
website, the lenses look like Nikon's.
Quote from Popular Photography's review of the Oly E-51024 Jul 2007 01:34 GMT11
"The camera has less image noise raw at 1600 ISO than its JPEGs at 100
ISO."
I'm assuming here something went wrong with their testing and they
somehow magnified JPEG artifacting (never a real issue with Olympus in
PB-4 / PB-5 nikon bellows mounted to Nikon digital cameras. (Last time on the subject, honest.)23 Jul 2007 23:20 GMT20
The last bit of evidence is in:

It appears it is indeed safe to mount either of these old Nikon bellows to
modern nikon dslrs.
Another ISO question...23 Jul 2007 03:11 GMT57
Ok, more noob 'ISO' questions...
how many psuedo-equivalent  'fstops' does increasing the ISO give when
trying to shoot a picture in poor lighting conditions?
I am fully aware that increasing the ISO isn't *actually* raising the fstop

I'm different. I have the opinion a "usable" picture has 1-2 MP
resolution, I'd say "sufficient" resolution is 3-4 MP. I'd classify 10
MP as "mostly non-achievable".
I'm trying to decide what would be the next step after replacing the
