Usenet Bullies exposed - help rid Usenet of them.03 Jun 2007 12:58 GMT7
A Usenet bully is someone who targets other people with often
defamatory but always degrading posts and replies. The practice of on-
line bullying is illegal in Canada and some states of the USA.

B&H puts another local camera store out of business (with my help, unfortunately)03 Jun 2007 11:15 GMT120
Yes, Castle Photo of Lansing, in business for over 25 years, is closing its
doors.  I did buy all my darkroom chemistry from them, but B&H and all the
rest (meaning Adorama and a couple others) can't be beat for most items,
including paper, even though it commands a premium in ...

Low self-discharge NiMH batteries?03 Jun 2007 00:40 GMT6
Can anybody relate their experience with the low self-discharge NiMH batteries
out there?  In particular, I am interested in the Sony Eneloop and Rayovac
Hybrid batteries which are 2000mAh and 2100mAh respectively.
Please indicate which charger you use with these batteries and if ...
Macro: does it mean more than just "quite close"?02 Jun 2007 21:51 GMT43
When my camera (Pentax K100, with the kit lens) is in auto mode,
sometimes it will focus on a very near object and display an icon (the
universal flower) which I recognise as indicating macro mode.
This doesn't really seem to be any mode of the lens or camera, it just
Focus confirmation for old manual lenses on the Olympus E-3?02 Jun 2007 05:18 GMT10
Silly rumour, but wouldn't it be simply awesome?

Oh dear.
The graceful and much loved pelicans are no different from any other species
when it comes to violence...
They are quite capable of the nastiest of nasty behaviour.
Taking a digital SLR to a Pro-Sports event...01 Jun 2007 23:38 GMT15
Does anyone know the legalities of taking a DSLR to a stadium to a
pro-sports event ( as a spectator, not a press photographer!) ? ie. Major
League Baseball or NFL games?
I know pro sports leagues are extremly touchy about imaging rights etc and
monopod reccomendations wanted01 Jun 2007 18:04 GMT2
I'm out from lurking again, and hoping some of you will share your thoughts
on a good monopod.
Will use most often in taking photos of my children dancing, in
auditorium/theatre settings.  Low light.   Hence the need for stability.

Future of digital slr's01 Jun 2007 16:02 GMT12
What's the future of digital slr cameras?
We've heard that megapixels aren't everything.
Will manfacturers start putting larger sensors on digital cameras?  Will
this make digital slr's more similar to 35mm photos or do we need to look to
