Sensor reflection of rear element21 May 2007 17:47 GMT6
It has been claimed that in some instances that light hitting the sensor
cover reflects back to the rear element of the lens and that that
reflection is then caught by the senor in the image.  Some lenses claim
to have a coating on the rear element to reduce/eliminate this.
field of view crop21 May 2007 07:09 GMT8
Some naive questions about FOV crop on DSLR's.
1. My limited understanding of this phenomena is that it is due to the
fact that the sensor doesn't (in some cameras) cover the full 35mm
frame. True? So I'm assuming for example, that a 17mm lens on a camera

Advice sought for Product Shoot Technique21 May 2007 06:16 GMT10
I've been given the opportunity to do my first product shoot, but I've come
a bit "unstuck" - just wondering if those who know more than I could give me
a few pointers?
I need to photograph a new communications box for an aircraft flightdeck.
Imaging Resource DSLR System Time Lags Tests and Comparison20 May 2007 19:45 GMT9
With the enlightenment by Imaging Resource for their high quality
truly professional test reviews, I have tried to summarize their
findings about their unique tests on this important DSLR performance
aspect which many people might be less aware of (and very few
Nikon PB-6 Bellows20 May 2007 16:57 GMT36
Who was it who had the page about compatibility of old bellows with
newer cameras? One page I found described the PB-6 as having aperture
coupling so that means it can stop down AI lenses as well as open up G
lenses for focusing? Will I need an extension ring to mount it on a
First Posts20 May 2007 15:21 GMT4
This sight has my first posts on the internet.  I would appreciate any feed
back.  Using a D50 Nikon and a variety of lenses and filters along with
PaintShop Pro.

Focal length and angle of view.20 May 2007 01:48 GMT5
If two lens have same angle of view, does it necessarily imply that
both of them has the same angle of view ?
So how is a 100mm macro lens(say canon 100mm f/2.8) getting more
magnification compared to a zoom lens (say a tamron 18 200) set to
Value of old Olympus OM lenses stable or rising?19 May 2007 20:29 GMT3
Check this one out.  Another eg, a year ago, a 180mm f2.8 was about
$250, now around $400-$500. WAs (18, 21 and shift lenses) seem to be
climbing in value as well.  A 24mm shift OM is around $2200.00
Why are the prices this high?  Look whose buying them and why;
Nikon D40X and noise reduction19 May 2007 15:15 GMT18
I've been shooting with noise reduction off and usually
using an ISO of 200.  It is my impression that no noise
reduction is needed at that ISO.\
However, every so often I use an ISO of 800 or even 1600.  I
Teleconverters19 May 2007 03:41 GMT19
Thinking about this combo:
20D, EF 100-400 and EF 1.4XII teleconverter.
Already own the camera and the lens.
Thanks for your ideas.
What gives with the Pentax USA web site???18 May 2007 20:14 GMT2
I was just checking their site http://www.pentaxusa.com to find some
info on lenses for the K10D. Here are the things I noticed that
bothered me: when looking at the camera page, there was no mention of
lenses and no easy way to get there without going back out to a

Canon Zoom Browser/ Exposure Bracket help needed..18 May 2007 16:07 GMT7
Hi, as a noob to DSLR, I was tinkering around with exposure bracketing and
it sounds great that the camera ( mine is a canon 400d/xti rebel) takes 3
pictures for you in the hope that one of them can get you the desired
exposure.
Got my Camera. EOS 400d What Next? Filters!18 May 2007 11:52 GMT68
I finally went and got my new DSLR. The Canon EOS 400D with 18 - 55 mm

I want to protect my camera as much as possible and I can vaguely
remember reading an article advising n00bs to get cheap filters to
