Any 20D owners use screw mount lenses?10 Apr 2007 10:05 GMT1
i bought one used because my friend can use my SMC lenses on his 30D, but I
can't seem to get thet same results with the 20D. I have an adapter (non
focus confirming) an attach my lesn, but when shooting in manual, after the
meter says the exposure would be good, i shoot and get ...
What does your monitor show you?10 Apr 2007 09:19 GMT52
I'm curious to discover what people's monitors are registering/not
registering in terms of shadow details and highlight details.
Please indicate a whether you can read the text in each of the following:

sony alpha a100 for a beginner? What lens?10 Apr 2007 00:32 GMT25
First, I'm a beginner moving from a point and shoot who wants to get a
digital slr for fast action sporting events like soccer and gymnastics. I've
been reading about and checked out the Sony Alpha A100 dslr.  I like the
feel of the camera and at a price of about $550-600 for the ...

DSLR price differences, artificial?09 Apr 2007 15:26 GMT9
Nikon's new D40x (10 meg) $750 is substantially more expensive than
the D40 (6 meg) $540.00. But they are essentially the same cameras,
same sensor types (size, make) and the only difference is megapixel
count.  I'm wondering if it really costs that much more to divy up a
Photo Update - Lensbaby 1 takes on a foggy stroll in SF & a sushi dinner09 Apr 2007 01:57 GMT4
Some new photos using another new lens, sort of a toy tilt shift thing
that looks like a spring/plunger called 'lensbabies': It never really
looks very sharp anywhere but you get more control over the plane of focus

Printing08 Apr 2007 23:54 GMT17
Well, there doesn't seem to be a rec.photo.printing where I can go ask what
is everyone's favorite inkjet for photos.  I'm thinking of buying the Canon
Pixma Pro9000 but wondering if the HP is better or if I should wait for the
Pro9500.  Suggestions?

Nikon AS-15 Hot shoe adapter08 Apr 2007 01:42 GMT8
I just bought an AS-15 hot shoe/pc cord adapter for my Nikon D70s.
The dealer said that it will protect  the sync circuitry when  using
my older Vivitar 285 flash.   It does trigger the vivitar. However
the instructions that came with it say to use only Nikon flash
Infra-red07 Apr 2007 16:51 GMT25
Do all digital cameras have infra-red filters in front of the sensors?
Or to ask it another way, what sort of infra-red photography can you do
with a digital camera?

Wein safe sync on rebel xt07 Apr 2007 13:34 GMT4
I'm trying to get a Wein safe sync to fire monolights on a Canon Rebel XT.
My flash meter fires them with the same cord.  Do I need to set something
different? Thank blah
How to pick a macro lens?07 Apr 2007 11:33 GMT24
I'm thinking of a macro lens for my D200.  I was taking some pictures of
crokus flowers in my front lawn
(http://www.flickr.com/photos/10625820@N00/444921783/) and couldn't get in
close enough really get the detail in the inside of the flower.  I assume a
Avoiding "buyer's remorse" in choice of 5D lenses07 Apr 2007 09:15 GMT14
I guess I'd be considered an advanced hobbyist.  I put my Canon EOS Elan IIe
on the shelf two years ago with purchase of my first digital P&S (Sony W-1),
and have loved the digital experience ever since.  Been saving for jump to
DSLR, and finally bought Canon EOS 5D body yesterday.  ...
