Mack Extended Warranty for Nikon D8024 Apr 2007 01:57 GMT4
Does anyone have any experience using a MACK warranty?
I am looking to purchase a Nikon D80 camera.  Nikon has an extended service
policy (2 years for approx $80 depending on retailer) but they say it is not
for sale in Virginia.
Nikon D40 vs D40x at the same price23 Apr 2007 20:45 GMT147
I know some discussions have been made on the D40 vs D40x, is it worth
$200 for 10mp vs 6mp.  My question is, if they were both $599, which
camera would you buy, any advantage to either.  I'm curious because I
ordered and paid for a D40 $549 and received a D40x.  Should I be
Do we really need "look at my pictures" updates here?23 Apr 2007 19:14 GMT62
I don't believe such activity belongs here, and while I think an occasional,
look at this one, or this gallery, is fine, particularly when it's tied to a
specific discussion on dSLR equipment, I don't appreciate those folks who
seem to feel that we're all waiting eagerly to share ...
Adapter from Konica lens mount to Nikon DSLR23 Apr 2007 14:55 GMT3
I have a Soligor Auto Zoom 4.5 90-230mm lens with a Konica mount.
Is there an adapter available that would allow me to mount this on a Nikon
D80?
If an adapter is available, would it retain autofocus and autoexposure
Pinholes23 Apr 2007 07:14 GMT3
I used to have a lot of fun with a body cap which I made into a pinhole
lens for my old 35mm SLR (cut out a section, covered it with aluminium
foil, and poked a little hole in that).
Two questions:
Nikon Captures Aquatic Life Thought To Be Extinct!23 Apr 2007 05:23 GMT2
Thank goodness I had the old Nikkor with me today or I would have missed a
once in a lifetime opportunity to record the second only known photograph
taken within the last 40-years of what was thought to be long extinct.

monopod foot22 Apr 2007 10:26 GMT11
Last year, I purchased a Manfrotto monopod and tripod at a garage sale
for $10 each.  Both of these items used to belong to the sports
photographer for the local newspaper in my town.  The tripod is really
nice and is the 055B model.  I plan on picking up a used Manfrotto 488

What's wrong with my D70?21 Apr 2007 13:27 GMT8
Dear Group,
I haven't used my D70 much since Christmas, I took it out the other day to

Help if you can21 Apr 2007 08:09 GMT44
My wife wants a digital slr that is very good  probably 8MP or more
that she can take rapid fire photos with.  something like 3 times a second?
Also must be able to use different lenses.  She wants to do some Hockey action photos.
In your experiences, can anyone make ...

I've been thinking about getting a camera to try and creat some good

Can I use 35mm flash on digital Canon Rebel XT21 Apr 2007 00:18 GMT1

Virginia Tech Memorial Photos20 Apr 2007 04:08 GMT7
Hello to all R.P.D, 35mm, and SLR contributors,
Everyone has something to say about this tragedy, but eventually, words
begin to all run together until they lose some of their meaning.  Sometimes
a photo can express a thought or sentiment far more clearly, so this is my
time to sell my Nikon 6006 and all the lenses.......18 Apr 2007 01:41 GMT19
I haven't used my 6006 in about 5 years, nor any of it's
lenses (I have about 3).  The lenses are so old that they
are AF and will not autofocus or even necessarily meter
properly in my new D40X - from what I understand.
