Does anyone have any experience using a MACK warranty?
I am looking to purchase a Nikon D80 camera.  Nikon has an extended service
policy (2 years for approx $80 depending on retailer) but they say it is not
for sale in Virginia.

I know some discussions have been made on the D40 vs D40x, is it worth
$200 for 10mp vs 6mp.  My question is, if they were both $599, which
camera would you buy, any advantage to either.  I'm curious because I
ordered and paid for a D40 $549 and received a D40x.  Should I be

I don't believe such activity belongs here, and while I think an occasional,
look at this one, or this gallery, is fine, particularly when it's tied to a

I have a Soligor Auto Zoom 4.5 90-230mm lens with a Konica mount.
Is there an adapter available that would allow me to mount this on a Nikon
D80?
If an adapter is available, would it retain autofocus and autoexposure

I used to have a lot of fun with a body cap which I made into a pinhole
lens for my old 35mm SLR (cut out a section, covered it with aluminium
foil, and poked a little hole in that).

Last year, I purchased a Manfrotto monopod and tripod at a garage sale
for $10 each.  Both of these items used to belong to the sports
photographer for the local newspaper in my town.  The tripod is really
nice and is the 055B model.  I plan on picking up a used Manfrotto 488

Dear Group,
I haven't used my D70 much since Christmas, I took it out the other day to
prepare for an upcoming event, charged the batteries and tried to take some
photographs.

My wife wants a digital slr that is very good  probably 8MP or more
that she can take rapid fire photos with.  something like 3 times a second?
Also must be able to use different lenses.  She wants to do some Hockey action photos.
