Close Up Photos08 Feb 2007 04:27 GMT13
I want to be able to take close ups of spider webs, insects, leaves etc. Can
I  use a non-macro telephoto lens such as a Nikon 70-300 to do this, or does
the telephoto lens need to have a macro setting?
What about using a close up lens that screws on to a regular lens ?
MT-24EX extension cable08 Feb 2007 01:01 GMT7
I would like to use one of the flash heads from my MT-24EX dual macro flash
about 3 feet from the camera. Has anyone out there cut the cable and added
an extension? Perhaps it would be possible to use a connector so that the
extension could be removed when using it normally?
D200 defective!!! :(((07 Feb 2007 23:53 GMT5
I got a new D200 and I thought it was losing the focus because of the
temperature < 0C or because of some setting but it now looks really

CF cards - speed vs slower types (WHY?)07 Feb 2007 20:13 GMT5
Is there a web sight where I can read up about the different cards and the
reasons for speed vs non speed types? I am confused and would like to learn.
I will be using it in a D200.
Thanks for any help...Chuck.
what camera for a teenager07 Feb 2007 16:12 GMT101
my daughter has an inexpensive point and shoot digital camera but she
has been wanting a better camera for a long time.
She has birthday coming up (turning 16) and we are debating a better
camera like a Nikon D40.  I have a D70 with a couple lenses and really
Lacking a good normal lens... dream kit thoughts...07 Feb 2007 09:12 GMT14
This is mostly a repeat from an off topic rant in the 35mm group
regarding the very rare 58mm f/1.2 Noct Nikkor so I'm giving it it's own
thread here.
Saturday I lugged my whole kit on a long hike & ended up shooting
D80 w/ 18-135 squeaks07 Feb 2007 06:09 GMT1
A friend of mine has a  D80 w/ 18-135 len. After a week or 2 the lens
would squeak like a mouse when auto-focusing. I was thinking about
getting the same rig but I'm now very concerned about this problem. I
seached on the web and have found others with the same problem. Any
Build quality?07 Feb 2007 00:31 GMT34
This is one of the least objective and least useful descriptors out there,
and is overused, in my humble opinion.
I bring this up because I spent hours yesterday looking for information
about Canon 50 mm lenses.  Googling turned up lots of reviews and posts and
DSLR won't meter longer than 30 seconds exposures.07 Feb 2007 00:18 GMT37
I've come to notice that doing night shots, my Nikon D200 won't meter
longer than 30 seconds of exposure time. I don't have a remote release
and apparently the only way to exceed 30 seconds is to hold my finger on
the shutter. Is this common behavior for camera meter systems? ...

Hello Reader,
I have a camera, also I have a GPS device (Garmin eTrex Vista). With the
available software I can extract data from the GPS device, for example I can
make the format *.gpx (GPs eXchange format). Other formats can also be
Remote trigger vs. PC sync06 Feb 2007 13:55 GMT3
What are the advantages of using a sync cable over the remote feature on

Are IS lenses doomed ?06 Feb 2007 11:13 GMT604
The release of Sony Alpha with the image stabilization in camera ( although
this is not new) highlighted the fundamental problem with Canon.
Canon have had IS lenses long ago as it would be very difficult to do
in-camera stabilization in film cameras. The digital cameras had to ...
Pentax K100D Pentax Remote Assistant06 Feb 2007 07:29 GMT6
I have recently bought the K100D and I was wondering if it is possible to
use it with the Pentax Remote Assistant software, because I installed the
software the other day and when I plugged in my K100D it seemed to work
perfectly and I just want to make sure that I am not ...
