I recently bought a Pentax K10D. I could not find a way

affect the file number. Does anybody now whether that's
possible and how?

Canon lens repair11 Jan 2007 22:44 GMT5
I have a Canon 90-300 lens which has stopped working.  When I turn on
my camera (EOS 300D) I get Err 99 and the lens makes a noise as if the
gear is stuck.  I remember just before it stopped working that the
auto-focus was slow which might be important.  Does anybody know what

Portrait with 5D + 135 mm f/211 Jan 2007 17:00 GMT24
I love the 135/2 L - it's the best lens I've ever used.  Almost hurts
to take it off the camera, which happens pretty rarely.

memory card speed11 Jan 2007 13:42 GMT10
I have an old 256MB compact flash card for my Canon EOS300D but I think
its too slow (not to mention not very large capcaity).  I was looking
at upgrading to a new 2GB card and see that there are a lot of
different speed cards.  I was going to opt for the top 133x speed but

formats are the usual Canon RAW (.CR2), JPG and some strange ".XMP"
files which I don't understand the need for.
I have a Canon EOS-350D (Rebel XT) myself, and although I shoot in

Why lenses with lower f cost that much more? Lower f is just a bigger hole.
Is that because lower f required better quality lenses?

Back to NEF + JPEG10 Jan 2007 13:50 GMT4
I didn't get in on this thread soon enough. I shoot both RAW and JPEG.
When it comes time to import photos into Light Room I have to Ctrl-click on
only the RAW files. Can anybody tell me if there is a way to sort and import
only the RAW files, besides doing all this clicking?
Nikon D200 shooting NEF+JPEG10 Jan 2007 12:43 GMT11
"The D200 accepts CompactFlash and Microdrive, and allows you to shoot in
various JPEG modes, in NEF (Nikon's raw file format) or with NEF+JPEG in
three levels."  The manual also talks about setting the quality.
I want to use the highest level and try shooting  NEF+JPEG using the ...
