| D100 D200 Errrr message | 09 Dec 2006 00:00 GMT | 3 |

| canon zoom choice | 08 Dec 2006 18:57 GMT | 17 |
I want to buy a good quality Canon zoom lens for my new 5D. Which would you recommend, a 70-200 f2.8 with a 2X extender, or a 100-400 f4.5/5.6? Or something else? My main interest is nature photography, especially close up and macro (I have a macro for that), but I am planning a ...

| There's little left to talk about | 08 Dec 2006 16:42 GMT | 12 |
John's post about the "stupidity" of the camera name "Rebel" got me to thinking; but only after I looked at the long list of responses. Reasonable posts by naive beginners can get abused here with acerbic and curt replies, yet the name of a camera gets all sorts of detailed ...

| Nikon D80 lenses | 08 Dec 2006 00:42 GMT | 10 |
I have a selection of Nikon AF lenses for my F601 which I believe are compatible with the new D80. Are there any disadvantages to using them with the D80 (metering, auotfocus) compared to lenses specifically made for digital?

| First Digital SLR | 08 Dec 2006 00:13 GMT | 9 |
I just ordered the Nikon D80. I have been looking for a couple of months. I had it narrowed down to the D80, D200, and the Canon D30. After reading a lot of post on this group and reading a lot of reviews, I finally decided on the D80. My heart wanted to go with the

| Tokina 20-35 f3.5-4.5 | 07 Dec 2006 09:18 GMT | 2 |
I'm looking at this particular lense and I find the reviews to tell of great sharpness and fairly good handling of disortion (but some should be expected at that wide angle) So I'm wondering how the group feel about it, and what I should pay for

| "Hybrid" or polycarbonate lenses and aging | 07 Dec 2006 09:05 GMT | 67 |
Two main factors result in aging (weakening, hazing and yellowing) of polycarbonate lens material. 1. UV light exposure. 2. Mechanical stress (internal or external). With new camera lenses, particularly inexpensive "kit" lenses utilizing
