My D30's shutter curtains have given up the ghost this week, isn't really a economical repair, and I think this is the nudge to say time to get a new Canon camera. I already have a few nice Canon lenses so Nikon etc are not an option.

Posting under my husabands name here could really use some help & fast please: I have not been able to get into my creative settings much with 2 toddlers taking up most my time but I its family portrait time and Im in need of some help desperatly.

To cover all bases, I'm carrying three battery chargers in my camera bag. One for my Canon 30D batteries (BP511), one for my Sony P&S camera (NP-BG1), and one for rechargeable AA batteries for flash and misc. There's gotta be a better way! Anyone know of a 'universal' charger, or at

I have bought a Nikon 60 mm Micro Nikkor but the only flash I have is a Nikon SB20 & the off camera extension lead from my old SLR. As TTL won't work on my D70 I am restricted to Auto or Fully Manual settings. The question is are there any problems using this flash a short ...

Has anyone tried this? I can't seem to get it to work, would taping off some of the pins on the flash help? THe 430 has manual power settings and I'd really like to be able to use it as an optical slave. Thanks.
