| Your average joe camera question | 11 Nov 2006 20:10 GMT | 17 |
Okay....I had said in an earlier post that I am quite new to the whole digital camera thing. I spent 20 years using a Nikon 2020 and always taking pictures in manual mode. Well, upon getting a D50 I got lazy and started to take my pictures in full

| D200 successor, when? | 11 Nov 2006 12:29 GMT | 67 |
Judging by history, when might we see a successor to the Nikon D200? I am not asking whether one is needed, just when it might happen? It seems to me that a D3x or something similar will have to be released first, but I could be wrong about that. Still, the D200 has been out for ...

I have a canon digital rebel and a tamron 28-200 f3.8-5.6, I am looking at buying a 2x teleconverter on eBay for under $100. Are any brands better than others, are they bad news or should I just buy a canon 75-300 for around $300 and not waste my money... ? kk

| Minolta-Sony Flash Compatibility | 10 Nov 2006 21:39 GMT | 12 |
It never occurred to me that an old Minolta 5400xi flash might not be compatible with the Sony Alpha 100. (The 5400xi was the flash of choice for the 9xi film body.) The Sony will fire the flash and the zoom feature changes when the lens is zoomed. It was possible to change

I'd like to find an alternative to the bulk and weight of the EOS-5D and a bunch of Canon 2.8L lenses, but I'm having trouble evaluating cameras for adequate signal-to-noise ratio at higher ISOs. I do a lot of night photography. There

| The world of filters | 09 Nov 2006 21:54 GMT | 53 |
Yes, I am trying to build up the ole camera equipment and I want to get the 'right' stuff, as it were. As far as filters go... I want to get a polarizer filter......so what brand name is a good one to get (without breaking the bank).

| D200 Color Matrix Metering at night | 09 Nov 2006 21:16 GMT | 10 |
D200 Color Matrix Metering at night still gets dark, not middle gray. <http://www.edgehill.net/1/?SC=go.php&DIR=Misc/misc-photos/2006-11-04-sunroom> Exif data says "Multi-segment" metering mode, I believe it was the default middle setting, not spot meter or center weighted. ...
