Canon 5D - shutter won't click18 Nov 2006 14:51 GMT7
I just got my 5D a week ago and like it so far BUT sometimes the
shutter won't click.  One minute I'll be taking photos fine, then the
shutter won't click and it won't take a photo.  The exposure is in
range and it is indicating it's in focus.

And you still can't buy one, yet.
Very soon though.

Prime vs Zoom18 Nov 2006 03:32 GMT10
I'm a bit worried that I might have become addicted to primes.  I'm pretty
new to digital slr photography and have been happily using my 18-70 kit lens
for the last 6 months which was bundled with my d70s.  I recently raided my
savings and replaced the kit lens with the 17-55/2.8 ...
Nikon D200 Import or USA????  What's the difference18 Nov 2006 02:05 GMT35
I narrowed my search to a D200, It is cheaper for me to buy an asian
import off the net at $510 that is BODY ONLY, no battery, cables,
straps, chargers, anything else. and piece together the battery and
charger etc off the net than buy a US model.  Other than the warranty
Digital newbie looking for camera17 Nov 2006 04:24 GMT13
I'm in the process of attempting to switch from medium format
photography to digital. Can anyone out there recommend a really good
digital SLR between $800 and $1400?
I'm used to cameras such as Mamiya RB and RZ, so I'd be more
silvery scratch on lens17 Nov 2006 01:21 GMT23
I got a lens with a silvery looking scratch on it which I suspect may be
just some metal rubbed off on it from banging around with other lenses.
Is there a way to buff that off or is that what a scratch looks like on
a coated lens? It has a purple/green coating. I tried rubbing ...
Nikon 17 -55 2.8 DX Lens16 Nov 2006 23:30 GMT4
Thinking of getting the above lens, seems to have good reviews. I know
it's expensive - bottom line is it worth it? will be used on my D 200.
Haven't got a decent dealer in my area so I can't try before I buy.
Regards to all
Old prime 10, 11, 12 mm Canon EF lens.16 Nov 2006 22:21 GMT4
I am looking for a cheap & light super wide prime lens to use with my
30d. Did any third party ever make a prime that I could find on the
used market? I just wanted to know before I sunk some money into one of
the zoom options, which I don't really care for.
Wide angle lenses16 Nov 2006 21:49 GMT5
I've got a 17-35mm zoom, and was wondering if I put that on a digital
camera, and get the 1.5x zoom factor, will the lens actually put out an
image that looks like a 25-52 or so lens?  Or will the image look like a
cropped 17-35 lens?
remote cable16 Nov 2006 15:32 GMT2
> I am thinking of purchasing an MCD1 remote cable which is 1 metre long for a Nikon D70S,  I would like to know if there is a third party attachment which can increase the  length of this cable to approximately 6 metres?
> I look forward to hearing from you.

Focus Question15 Nov 2006 14:55 GMT6
I have recently purchased a Sigma 70-300 for my Canon 30D.  I intend to
shoot airshows when I can and have a focus question.  Since this type of
shooting is quick, would it be feasible to set the focus manually at the
farthest range and shoot to avoid the AF searching as you're ...

1.  An overly familiar greeting to strangers.
2.  A line like, "I just came across this neat sight"  As if you
"stumbled" upon it and just have to tell the world.
3.  Post a generalized link to the site rather than a direct link to
