All,
I have a Canon 300D which has worked quite well in the last 2 years.

Plastic lenses losing element aligment?22 Nov 2006 18:00 GMT18
A magazine made the comment the other day as to whether a
plastic-housed lens would maintain alignment over the "long haul."  I
wasn't aware this was an issue.  I'd have thought that expansion and
contraction of plastic during temp changes might compromise the shape
I've got a D7022 Nov 2006 16:28 GMT6
with several lenses including a Nikon ED AF Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4 - 5.6 D

It flashes the fault code fEE in the control panel nearly all the time and
of course the camera is inoperable while the fault code is flashing.  I can
No Olympus E-400s end up Stateside in stores22 Nov 2006 11:11 GMT7
More or less supports the idea that the production run of these cameras
was so low only a select few European and Asians stores got them.
"Grey" market bodies are non-existent.
buying a <~ $1100 SLR - which one and why?22 Nov 2006 08:49 GMT12
I'm so tired of my old Olypmus "brownie" that takes seconds to decide
when to grab an image - I want to get back to a SLR type body.
Cannon/Olympus/Nikon/Sony ????????  Any testimonials of happy users

Does the Canon 5D has Rear Sync Flash?22 Nov 2006 04:29 GMT4
I just got a 5D and, so far, I love the camera, but I can't get the
flash to fire before the shutter closes. I did set the Custom function
#15 to "2nd Curtain sync", but it doesn't do the trick. Thinking it
could be a problem with the flash, I asked my friend to try it on his

Canon EF-S 10-22mm .. Lack Of Contrast21 Nov 2006 02:37 GMT8
I've noticed a distinct lack of contrast with my Canon EF-S 10-22mm.
Is this normal for this particular lens or is it a characteristic of
very wide angle lenses in general?
Thanks for any thoughts...

Prestige Camera BEWARE20 Nov 2006 01:31 GMT8
I ordered from Prestige Camera.  The salesman was rude and lied, but I
did get my camera.  I got a good price but had to tolerate
high-pressure sales. Plus they lied to me about requiring a signature
from UPS so the $800 package was left on my doorstep!  They state
istD questions19 Nov 2006 21:18 GMT22
I bought a Pentax istD several years ago and have hardly used it since
then. I have to admit I've never been satisfied with its performance
(I've always found the sensor produces images that are too soft). The
one I got also had some serious technical problems (it drained power
