| Opinion of buying refurb with Mack warranties? | 03 Oct 2006 20:09 GMT | 1 |
I'm seeing some Canon DSLR's "refurb" on ebay with 3-year Mack warranties from sellers with very good feedback. How does one use a "Mack" warranty? I'm guessing I would not be sending it to Canon Service in Irvine, CA as I usually do with my Canon gear.

| Is four-thirds dead ? | 03 Oct 2006 10:17 GMT | 22 |
Is four-thirds dead ? It seems that only Olympus is pursuing seriously. Panasonic came out with one body only... And both Fuji and Sigma just came out with new bodies but they weren't 4/3.

Hi Group, strange thing happened today - went to my local Jessops in Bristol, UK, to buy a D200., and they had been told not to sell any - Jessops online doesn't list any either.

| Oh God! WHY did they shrink the D80 from D70 dimensions??! | 03 Oct 2006 05:14 GMT | 28 |
The size of a D50??? Why? Do they anticipate more women than men buying it? Why on EARTH would anyone want it that small? This is classed as an above entry level camera so what is with with the P&S size reasoning?

| D200 CHA Error | 03 Oct 2006 00:45 GMT | 27 |
Ok, this is a weird thing, and Nikon doesn't know what it is. I just got a new D200, and put in my sandisk extreme III 4gb card. I got the CHA error. Assuming that the card was bad, I then got another card. Same thing. I tried another brand, same thing.

| Sharpest Canon 1.6 crop lens | 02 Oct 2006 19:26 GMT | 21 |
Ok forget build quality...forget focus luxuries...forget super wide open apertures. What is the best IQ standard zoom when stopped down from between f8 to f16. This includes edge to edge sharpness, contrast and colour. The best image blown up to large print size. This is all ...

| NIkon 18 -135 lens v 18-70 | 02 Oct 2006 08:33 GMT | 7 |
I am looking to purchase a D200 and considering what lens to get for general use. The 18-200 seems to get good plaudits but is also rarer than rocking horse manure (it seems). Additionally, I have read somewhere that the 18-135 may be the new "kit" lens for most models

| The reason entry-level cameras are shrinking | 02 Oct 2006 07:32 GMT | 5 |
It's the plastic. The only way to get a really rigid, strong plastic structure is to make its flat dimensions as small as possible, relative to wall thickness. Can you image if a camera the size of 1DsMkII or even the Canon 30D were plastic? All you'd hear when you

I've been using the first version of Lightroom for a while and there are lots of pictures in the library. Can anyone who has installed Beta 4 tell me what happens to the pictures? Thanks Steve

| Longevity of APS-C Format | 02 Oct 2006 01:00 GMT | 30 |
I recently bought an Rebel XT and realized that the so called "digital" lense does not cover 35mm format. Now the question is, how long will it be before the manufacturers migrate to full-frame format. I ask because I don't want to buy several "digital" lenses and 5 years later, no ...

| Elements 4 | 01 Oct 2006 05:56 GMT | 3 |
Hope some one can advise. Because my software was a bit old (Micrografx Picture Publisher 7 & Windows 2000) I went out & bought Windows XP & Photoshop Elements 4. Installed both today & all is fine except when I look at jpegs in PSE4 the colours are very saturated especially the ...
