Trancend Compact Flash cards, any good?11 Sep 2006 04:58 GMT4
Transcend cards generally go for half the price of similar sized SanDisk
cards, is price an indication of their performance and durability or are
they just as good?

Avoiding EF-S Lenses... Smart or Dumb?11 Sep 2006 00:51 GMT45
This is a question for Digital Rebel (or 20D/30D) owners who refuse to
consider  EF-S lenses, for the sake of future-proofing their
investment.  Many people will often allocate their money buying the
cheaper EF-L lenses in the same price range of the proper EF-S they

Is a "bigger, brighter" viewfinder worth it? (D80 vs D50)10 Sep 2006 17:31 GMT21
I really like my D50, but the upcoming D80 has me wondering -- with the
bigger LCD display and the bigger, brighter viewfinder -- these are two
features I, in my picture taking, could really use, IF they made a
difference.  I can see where seeing more detail, "on the fly" on the ...
Function of Nikon PB-6 bellows?10 Sep 2006 16:51 GMT12
Today I learned about the Nikon PB-6 bellows system, that can be used with
film or digital slr's.  What sort of lens would one then attach to the other
end of the bellows?  Does such a bellows allow one to use lenses normally
used on large format (like 4x5) cameras with slr's, or ...
If it weren't far bad luck,10 Sep 2006 16:42 GMT4
I'd have no luck at all...
I reported my Nikon broke this summer and was out for 4 weeks, then I got it
back in an alternate broken state, so I returned it for a few more weeks...
In the meantime I bought a Sony to play with as a cheap back up, well anyway on
lens query nikkor10 Sep 2006 16:32 GMT13
I am about to buy a Nikon D70, 2nd hand, it comes with a  with zoom lens,
the 18mm to 70mm (Nikkor), the lens that usually comes  with the camera in
the stores.  I already own the Nikkor AF ED 70-300mm 1:4-5.6D lens. I have
also the chance to buy  the Nikkor AF 85mm 1:1.8D fixed ...
Canon's dust removal system is....fake10 Sep 2006 16:11 GMT12
Turns out, it's a pixel-remapping feature instead of a true dust
removal feature.  Given the size of some dust particles, you are likely
going to have to clean as much as in the past, if you had to.  From
dpreview:
Nikon D50 Filter Size ???10 Sep 2006 13:10 GMT27
I am wondering what size filters the D50 takes......
I am getting some freebie filters and it would be great if they would work
on the Nikon that im after.
Cheers

EF50mm f1.8 lens on an Canon EOS 350D?09 Sep 2006 21:02 GMT8
Hi.  I'm wondering, can I use the Canon EF50mm f1.8 lens on my EOS
350D?  I have tried the standard lens but it's not really suitable for
my subject matter... portrait in low light/club/indoor.
A friend suggested a standard 50mm lens at a wide aperture might do the
Yet another lens question09 Sep 2006 12:41 GMT18
Is there any benefit to a F2.8 lens vs an F4 lens if I don't expect to
shoot at less than F4?
The F2.8 is a lot more expensive so is there an increase in image quality
when both are shot at F4 or more?
Canon 40D... on a 1.3x crop sensor?09 Sep 2006 11:33 GMT4
So what's next for Canon's 40D?  Dust removal?  Yawn.  10 megapixels?
Too little, too late.  All the other cameras will have been 10
megapixels since the previous year.  Weather sealing?  That's just
playing catch-up to the D200.  Less noise?  Unlikely, since the 400D is
DSLR Dust09 Sep 2006 11:31 GMT22
I am about to buy a DSLR, but before I do this dust thing has got me
worried.
If I have a DSLR and only ever attach the one lens (in my case a Tamron
28-200 which I already own) and never remove it, is dust a problem?
Nikon F3 owners manual..where to find?09 Sep 2006 08:24 GMT7
I've just been given an unused f3hp and know little on how to use it,
my old film body is a n2020, but it operates way differently than this
unit.  Can anyone point my to a site that has a manual to download?
