Hawk-Shot Flash Comparison...14 Sep 2006 22:20 GMT3
Alright all you Monday Morning Hawk-Snappers...  :)
I appreciate those of you who took the time to actually think about this,
and allow for the possibility that the guy on the scene might have some
insight that is otherwise unavailable when simply viewing after-the-fact
EOS-350D locking up sometimes14 Sep 2006 20:26 GMT18
I've experienced some strange behaviour from my Canon EOS-350D a few
times, and it happened again yesterday. At first it won't shoot when I
press the shutter button. I tried to change the program mode, turn the
camera on/off. Even remove and re-insert the memory card. I finally got

Cleaning sensor14 Sep 2006 01:41 GMT4
I bought the cleaning kit with swabs etc for the D70 & got rid of most of
the dust. But in the sky top right of the photos are 5 spots , does that
mean that the dust is on the top right of the sensor or is the image turned
by the lens.
Lobbying Nikon for a D50 DOFP button via firmware upgrade14 Sep 2006 01:34 GMT10
Here is the note I just sent to Nikon via their website:
D50 - D80 - D200...great line up.  Now that "better" is defined by a
10mb sensor, PLEASE provide a firmware upgrade to the D50 to let us swap
the function of the flash mode button to a DOF preview button!!!
5 Years Thoughts for 9110614 Sep 2006 01:02 GMT4
Time to move on, life goes on. As we focus on friendships and what
really matters one thing becomes apparent, that is how important it is
to have the rights and freedom to express ourselves in this world.
Photography can be a great means of expression, tempered with

Could high-tech, high-brow equipment be failing us13 Sep 2006 04:35 GMT18
A few threads below mine is a large discussion about where the street
photographers are. I Since this is a system board, it came to me that
maybe, perhaps people don't photograph candidly as much is because with
each new high tech advance (micro lenses, super zoom lenses, manual

Minolta remote connector12 Sep 2006 17:50 GMT12
Does anybody knows a source for those 3 pin remote shutter connectors (for
minolta and sony alpha)? I'm thinking about making a "shutter computer"
device for my minolta and sony, but I can't find the connector. Do you have
any hint on where I could find a source?
RAW processing - mountain photos12 Sep 2006 03:56 GMT15
I've just returned from a four-day trip to the Rockies (Jasper to Banff
and back). I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, and of course my
camera came along. Most of the pictures I got are your typical
postcard/calendar photos of "a mountain, a lake, and some trees".
Broken Nikon D70 F-min Switch11 Sep 2006 23:07 GMT1
The F-min switch on my Nikon D70 has snapped off. (see

I called Nikon Support here in the UK only they were next to useless -
they couldn't offer an estimate (despite this being ...
Olympus e500 aperture11 Sep 2006 13:58 GMT1
Has anybody had problem with the aperture on their e500? Mine is 3
months old and I'm on the second body. Both seem to have developed an
intermittent fault which prevents me from manually adjusting the
aperture, not sure if it affects in fully auto or A mode. The back
