| Why people upgrade | 18 Sep 2006 14:10 GMT | 6 |
I was just over a friends who recently upgraded her Nikon D100 to a D200. One would assume it was for more megapixels, but she did it because the buffer holds more RAW images. She has plenty of excellent 16x20's hanging all over the house, taken with

| Nikkor 18-200mm VR problem? | 18 Sep 2006 03:22 GMT | 35 |
My new 18-200mm sometimes will zoom out to 200 mm when I am carrying the camera on a walk, then camera center of gravity is such that the lens points downward. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a fix? r.

| Apple Aperture | 18 Sep 2006 03:08 GMT | 6 |
A while ago I began testing adobe lighthouse and I was impressed. Then I came to realize that it was soo slow that Picasa was a thousand times better, even without all the RAW development features (I use photoshop for that).

| View 400D raw fiiles? | 18 Sep 2006 02:29 GMT | 3 |
Can I download a sample program to view 400D raw files I took at a camera store today? The update is not on Canon's website yet. I'm pretty sure Adobe hasn't released ACR to view the files but at the moment I am unable to load their site (could be because I'm using Vista RC1, but ...

Read this in a Dutch Newspaper, too bad I wasn't the photographer. <http://www.ad.nl/eceRedirect?articleId=386821> The translation goes something like this: Vianen - That blue herons eat frogs, molls and rats is known, but the

| Anybody using Neat Image noise reduction? | 17 Sep 2006 23:06 GMT | 20 |
Pros and Cons? I'm playing with the free demo now, but it's pretty limited. The pro version comes with some good recommendations from respected people, what's his name, for instance, from Luminous Landscape : ) I'm having trouble getting the demo to open my D200 NEF files. ...

| Nikkor 70-300 AF-S VR | 17 Sep 2006 12:52 GMT | 4 |
Has anyone come across reviews of the new Nikkor AF-S VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED zoom lens? I know its out here in the UK early October (do you think I'll be able to get my hands on one in time for the Duxford Autumn Airshow on the 8th?!)

| Lens Recommendation | 17 Sep 2006 07:23 GMT | 13 |
I want a fast fixed focal length telephoto Nikkor with VR for my all-consuming hobby of wild bird imaging. I want shallow d.o.f. and I want it sharp sharp sharp! I just sold off my D70S along with that less than desirable 80-400mm VR and got a D200. I'm looking at the 300mm 2.8 ...

| Confused about "Digital" Lens | 16 Sep 2006 19:37 GMT | 58 |
On a few occasions, I've seen references to "digital" lenses. These are lenses that are optimized to have photons hit the digital sensor at a perpedicular angle. Allegedly, lenses optimized to work with digital sensors would produce better results for a digital camera than a lens

Where on the Adobe site can I get the RAW plugin for Nikon D70 for Photoshop 6 & Photoshop Elements V1 that came with the camera. I've tried various plugin downloads but they seem to be for CS2. Bruce

I have a Nikon D70 with an SB800 Flash unit. I'd like to invest in some *portable* lighting that can be used for informal family portraits (individual, small & large groups). What is a decent setup to get me started? I've seen Alien Bees
