Any future for Pentax?20 Sep 2006 06:59 GMT44
I have looked at the Pentax DSLR line and I see a number of bodies (ist...)
but the choice of lenses seem very limited with little or no professional
lenses.  I want to know if it is worth it buying a DSLR for someone who has
only a couple of lenses (one Sigma short zoom and the ...

US only. Flash memory class action lawsuit20 Sep 2006 05:42 GMT10
I ran across this the other day, and figure most who read hear will be
involved. The issue is how big is a megabyte (1,000,000 or 1,024,000 bytes).
If you qualify, there's either a 5% cash back, or a 10% discount on a memory
purchase from the respective vendors.
The next major change for Canon and Nikon20 Sep 2006 03:27 GMT18
Dust control was the first one.  The second one is going to be
in-camera IS.
Lens-based IS is simply too expensive for the entry level market were
much of the action is.  Nikon and Canon will have to offer it to stay

I have had this camera for about three hours.

Any reports on the new Sigma MACRO 70mm F2.8 EX DG19 Sep 2006 21:14 GMT11
I'm looking for Macro for my 350 Rebel/30D and see that Sigma has a new 70mm
Macro F2.8 EX DG.  Can anyone report on this lens?  It's this or the Canon
EFS 60mm F2.8.  Any comments on the two would be appreciated.
Thanks
Telephoto lens choice for Sony A100?19 Sep 2006 19:53 GMT13
I'm looking to buy a telephoto for my Sony Alpha 100 which I've just bought
(first DSLR so this is all new to me).
Should I go with the Sony AF 75-300mm or the Sigma 70-300mm which I think is
also available?
Capturing a Killer...Worth a look...(Hey Bret!)19 Sep 2006 19:35 GMT21
I'm sure this will never happen again this way...
Went to the beach to discover a flock of crows dive-bombing a tree-top.
Why?  They were after this guy...  Though not sure why, since he wasn't
eating...a crow...

D200 Custom/Shooting menu banks18 Sep 2006 23:07 GMT7
OK I'm finally getting around (trying to) figure out the menu banks on
my D200. I'm not getting it though. There are two kinds of memory banks
(I had initially thought only one???):

The irony of plastic use in DSLRs and other cameras18 Sep 2006 21:45 GMT19
What is the irony?  The only part that would benefit from coming
technology that will see plastic as a suitable replacement is the LCD
which uses glass in it's construction.  The only part of a camera where
it would actually make SENSE to use plastic, and it's not available!!!
