This scan back 6x17 camera is extremely fast. The image results are
comparable to a one-shot digital or film back. This is possible thanks
Aperture control with lens without an apature ring28 Sep 2006 00:47 GMT1
I have an older Pentax ZX-5N and a newer Pentax lens (older model
of AF). The lens has no aperture ring, so how may I gain manual
aperture control?
                                                  Thanks
Cleaning the mirror?27 Sep 2006 22:20 GMT3
I've just got myself a Rocket blower to clear the sensor on my newish 30D of
a couple of dust spots. I've only got one lens so there hasn't been much
opportunity for muck to get inside as the lens has never been off the
camera. However, when I was peering inside I did notice that ...
Image Stabiliser27 Sep 2006 13:46 GMT7
First off, I know nothing makes up for skill but..
I have been out today taking pictures and come home and so many of them are
suffering camera user shake (sadly I am not as stable as I used to be) I am
wondering just how good IS is..
Lightroom Beta 4 and D8027 Sep 2006 03:40 GMT1
The Lightroom Beta 4 raw converter is able to handle Nikon D80 raw files.
The images can be handed off to CS2 (or saved to process in any other
program). I guess that is the Adobe work-around until they fully update the
raw converter for CS2. There is a "vibrancy" slider, which ...
ND Filters27 Sep 2006 02:53 GMT6
I use a D70 & mainly landscapes, what is the difference between ND &
polarising filters for improving the sky delimitation.
Thanks Bruce
Google groups feed of this newsgroup27 Sep 2006 01:26 GMT7
I read this forum via Google Groups. It normally has many messages in a
day but I haven't seen anything for a few days.
Either Google is screwed up or the forum is defunct - not sure which.
Any insight? Maybe this post is not really useful though - if anybody

Specification items that have fallen by the side27 Sep 2006 00:33 GMT33
When DSLR's began their popular rise, there was much debate (in r.p.d in
those days) about a few specification items.  Some of these,
predictably, have fallen to the side as the non-issues they always were
for most photographers.
Pentax woes26 Sep 2006 19:21 GMT2
Had a shutter go on a Leica on a trip. didn't realize it til I got
back. Had 2 backs but 1/4 of my pics were gone. It was a 35 year old
M2, my fault 'cause it hadn't been in a shop for 10. Even the classics
have problems. But the more complex the more problems, but at least
Anything going on with D200 ??26 Sep 2006 15:51 GMT2
D200 listings have vanished from www.jessops.com in UK - not even
shown as out of stock !!  Anyone any idea why?
4-5 fps 'prosumer" DSLR's - are they really that fast?26 Sep 2006 15:30 GMT25
I have been holding off buying a camera I really like to use (for every
day shots), the Pentax  *ist Ds in the hopes that they will come out
with something that shoots faster than 1.5-2 fps in my price range
(<2000$) This is getting harder to do since Costco now has them at 599
