What might help DSLRs, especially pro DSLRs.07 Sep 2006 00:07 GMT19
Something like the Olympus E-330 has for live preview.  Only instead of
or in addition too, they'd have an electronic viewfinder that could
"swing into" the path of the optical eye viewfinder.  This would allow
the mirror to be lock-up during high speed continuous shooting,
lenses for the D7006 Sep 2006 23:56 GMT12
Hi, looking at getting an extra lense for close ups any one got feedback on
this one, went in and the salesman rated it highly, but got the feeling it
was more bonus related but might be wrong!

Is looking at 100% crop practical?06 Sep 2006 19:35 GMT12
I keep evaluating focus and noise by looking at my pictures at 100%
crop. Is this really practical? I did a down and dirty estimation that
at my screen resolution of 1280 X 960 to see a picture at 100% I would
need a 38" wide monitor. You would have to be back 12 to 15 feet to ...
RAW shooting - i would need some help06 Sep 2006 16:04 GMT14
Some of you already know that i'm only a beginner in SLR, so i thought i
might ask for some help from you experienced guys.
If some of you have broadband connection, some time and skills, i would be
very thankfull if you could download my example pics - raw is original,
Canon FF bodies - no annoucements this year?06 Sep 2006 14:00 GMT5
Would those in the know say there will be no new developments this year
in terms of Canon FF bodies?  Like a new FF body, or a price drop on
the 5D?
Trying to decide between the 30D and 5D for my first DSLR.  I don't
Need To Know06 Sep 2006 04:56 GMT8
Perhaps someone else has experienced a similar problem I've encountered
with a compact flash card.
I've often used an e-Film Pr0 Delkin Compact Flash 640mb card. I've
never encountered a problem when using this device. Then suddenly,

Why Nikon's D50 is "the best"05 Sep 2006 14:25 GMT14
At least when it comes to some things.  This is from sci.astro.amateur
The D50 does have a much lower dark current generation than practically
any other DSLR, it also has much lower amplifier glow. The d50 uses a
modified Sony ICQ413 CCD sensor, which has inherently low dark current ...
Canon Tech Support ????05 Sep 2006 03:31 GMT1
My Rebel XT has been back twice and the lens three times for service.
The RIGHT side of the frame is soft focus compared to the left. I have
explained this in great detail and have even sent pictures. I don't
think their techs even read or looked at any of it, because the camera
6-8 meg camera owners, will you go 10 megs?05 Sep 2006 02:13 GMT52
Especially higher-end 8 meg owners.  Do you plan to pick-up one of the
less expensive 10 meg cameras as a second body?
Looking for  battery suggestion on Pentax K100D04 Sep 2006 23:58 GMT9
What is the best battery recommendation for the Pentax K100D DSLR?
I've been told to NOT get the RECHARGEABLE CRV3's as that they may cause
damage.
Feedback, suggestions.
Lens Suggestion for Italy Trip04 Sep 2006 23:26 GMT4
My wife and I are going on a tour of Italy for two weeks :) !!!
I have the Olympus E330 with these lenses: 11-22, 14-54, 18-180,
40-150 and the 1.4TC. Our last long vacation was the Canadian Rockies
and the 11-22 was the most useful. I realize that most of the places
Off-topic    Ilford paper04 Sep 2006 22:36 GMT9
I know this is off topic and printing on an inkjet is out of the
question for the professionals, HOWEVER, I am excited about the quality
and price of Ilford paper.  Sam's club has Ilford gloss, 100 sheets 8.5
x 11 (very slightly lighter weight than the top line 250gsm)for $23.78
Online photo storage.   Suggestions?04 Sep 2006 21:53 GMT7
I'm planning a 3 month road trip.   I'll be carrying a laptop and I'm
debating whether it might be sensible to organise a method of off loading
photos from the laptop to "somwhere on the web".   I've been looking at
Flickr and the like and also the less photo oriented online ...
