Got my Sony Alpha today!10 Aug 2006 00:27 GMT71
There probably aren't a lot of these around... the Sony store only got 2 in.
Unfortunately I didn't have time today to play much since all hell broke loose
at work with a city wide power failure, I had to run around checking backup
battery's and generators... plus my truck was in ...

I am wanting to purchase a LCD protector for a Canon 20D.  I have found
several brands on the internet.  Can somebody give me advice on which
one, brand, etc to get?  Also, I will be traveling to Las Vegas soon.
Are there any recomendations on photo spots?

Did I misread rebate or luck out (evolt e-500)09 Aug 2006 03:44 GMT3
Bought a Olympus EVOLT E-500 2 lens package.
Sent in rebate, put $100 on the Total Rebate Amount Due" field.
Got a rebate check for $175. Did I misread my due rebate, or did I
luck out?
Sony's Alpha..I saw it, nice "try" better luck next time...09 Aug 2006 01:38 GMT94
But really, it's reasonable at the price point.
--I got a chance to try it out.  I was 1/2 impressed, 1/2 depressed.
What's bad:
-Build quality.  It is so far below the E-1 or the Nikon D200 it isn't

Canon EOS lens decision:  EF 24-105mmf/4L IS  vs EF-S 17-55mmf/2.8IS for 300D08 Aug 2006 05:05 GMT2
I'm in the hunt for a high quality replacement for the kit lens (EF-S
18-55mm f/3.5-5.6) of my Canon 300D/Digital Rebel.  I'm not thrilled
with the sharpness of the kit lens, and it's fairly limited for indoor
available light photography with its relatively small max aperture.

Steep learning curve, but I'll take my time.  Would like to hear from
new owners.

Bracketing?07 Aug 2006 03:20 GMT7
I want to bracket the exposure of some pictures I'm taking with my D-70.
However...when I use the BKT Set and BKT Order in the Custom Menu I get only
one image when I take the picture.  I would expect that "bracketing" means
that I would get three (3) ...one under, one right on, ...
