Optimizing Images (D70)13 Aug 2006 16:17 GMT4
The D70 gives you the option of 'optimizing' in the following ways:
-Normal
-Vivid
-Sharp
Archiving & Labeling Photo CDs13 Aug 2006 11:21 GMT20
How do you archive your Photos? Do you store your Raw files on CD? For
those using DNG, do archive both to CD? Together or to separate discs?
What about the touched up photos; Do you store them together or separately?
How do you label your CDs? What software do you use for ...

Sigma lens opinion12 Aug 2006 07:22 GMT6
I am an amateur photographer and am looking at Sigma 70-300mm APO DG
for Canon 350D. I do not intend to blow up the photos or worried about
absolute perfection. Will I be better off gong for the DG version only
which is half the price?
Sony kit lens as mediocre as Canon's?11 Aug 2006 18:56 GMT10
It doesn't look like it, but one test of it I saw shows it to be pretty
mediocre.
For a camera with 10 megapixels, the user would be well-advised to get
something
Nikon D200 to Canon SLRs comparison11 Aug 2006 17:49 GMT10
Hi group,
I had the good fortune to use the Nikon D200 for 3 weeks at a newspaper job.
Coming from using a Canon 10D, it seemed light years faster on the draw than
my old Canon in terms of focusing speed, focusing accuracy, shutter
The continuing saga of my Sony A10011 Aug 2006 16:27 GMT6
Spent the last little while taking pictures of my garden and viewing them on the
computer, modifying them, and running out again... I'm using a Samsung LCD.
One pet peeve I've always had with digital cameras was their inability to shoot
bright yellow and white flowers in sunlight. ...
Got my Nikon back - still broken.10 Aug 2006 23:10 GMT73
Sent my D70 in 4 weeks ago because the exposures were all over the place...
Picked it up today, they said they replaced the entire exposure circuit...
But they broke the multi-selector!
One direction doesn't work, can't go down in menus!
Moving to Digital -- Pentax??10 Aug 2006 22:46 GMT6
I would like to move toward digital for a number of
reasons, mostly the ability to take lots of shots
and losing the baddies without "wasting" film.
But, I've got a ton of old Pentax glass, mostly old
Let it Begin10 Aug 2006 12:13 GMT3
Other than a larger sensor what are the real rationalizations for upgrading
to a D80?
The sensor does not appear to have significantly greater dynamic range.
Can't use compact flash cards.
Photo to DVD10 Aug 2006 09:10 GMT1
Can anyone recommend a good program to turn my pictures into slideshow
on DvD. I see a ton of the programs out there and jsut looking to see
if anyone has used one and is happy with the results.

Raw Shooter Essentials files to Photoshop10 Aug 2006 07:45 GMT1
I just downloaded RSE and I've been fooling around with it. As I've read
the manual I saw that RSE doesn't modify the RAW files but creates a record
of adjustments. This raises the question that when I want to work on my
photos in PS7, is there a way that I can save the file in ...
D70 and Lithium battery10 Aug 2006 04:20 GMT12
I keep a back-up battery pak (non-rechargeable) in my bag in case my regular
battery goes down. However, the alternate battery source fails to 'energize'
the D70.
Both batteries are fully ready to go and charged.
Getting better photos -how?10 Aug 2006 03:16 GMT68
Having spent a few weeks getting used to my new SLR setup (Canon EOS
350D/Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 DC macro lens) I can't help but wonder why
none of my photos turn out like the ones I see in the many galleries
online.
