Finally gettong on the wagon and getting a digital slr, advice please.06 Jul 2006 07:11 GMT15
I am planning to get my first digital slr!
I've been using my med. format as point and shoot, but not efficient.
This dslr is primarily for point and shoot and a little lighting test
camera.
Denver, radius of 750 km - vacation06 Jul 2006 04:40 GMT42
I finally booked this years vacation flights and I'm surprised that the
prices for flights are quite reasonable.  (I didn't even try to trade
points in).
We'll be renting a car after we land at Denver, thence two weeks of
Nikon D50 and older Nikon lenses05 Jul 2006 23:45 GMT4
I have a friend who had a Nikon F65 and a couple of lenses for it.
She has just bought a Nikon D50 and finds that these older lenses will not
autofocus on the D50 body.
I don't use Nikon so here is my guess:
Macro/Micro for Nikon05 Jul 2006 22:50 GMT21
Currently I have an older 55mm AI Micro lens, and I'd like to upgrade to a
lens with AF and one that will couple to my D70's meter.
The only lens I've had a chance to play with is the 105, but I'm kinda
leaning towards the 60mm 2.8 now.  I'm thinking that the new lens will allow
Nikon Lens Question ED-IF04 Jul 2006 21:33 GMT5
I underdtand that ED in Nikon lens numbers designates the glass.  What is
the difference between ED and ED-IF?  I was looking at a f/2.8 AF ED lens
for a D200 and wondering how it would perform on motion shots?  Is there are
website that clarifies all this?
Save over-exposed photo04 Jul 2006 13:57 GMT28
I took some photos a couple weeks ago at my cousin's wedding. There is
one shot I would really like to save. I was setting up & taking some
test shots while everyone assembled for photos on a little bridge over a
small pond. This photo was one of those test shots, where I was ...

Surfing pics04 Jul 2006 06:30 GMT7
If it's winter in Durban that means its Beach Festival time! I recently
obtained a Nikkor 300mm f/4 ED-IF and I am very happy with it. Some
people say its auto focus tracking is too slow, but I was using it on a
D70 in AF-C mode yesterday and these are some of the shots I got:
smartdrive03 Jul 2006 14:10 GMT2
Can anyone give me some tips about the Smartdrive FCD20 hard drive?  I
can't get the drive to mount in my computer.  It is holding 13 gigs of
pictures.
I'm getting a little nervous.
PS action/plugin for correcting fisheye to rectilinear03 Jul 2006 12:51 GMT4
I have a 16mm f/2.8 Nikkor fisheye, which I can't really use on my D70
because of the crop factor. However, I know that the 10.5mm DX can be
corrected to rectilinear in Nikon software. Surely the same thing can be
done to any other fisheye lens in Photoshop?
D100-Shutter Question 03 Jul 2006 12:48 GMT3
I would like to keep the shutter open
as long as the shutter button is pressed
down, but can't find the way. Could anyone
tell me how to do it step by step, please?
ACDSee8 does NOT support Nikon D50 RAW03 Jul 2006 06:55 GMT13
Just upgraded my ACDSee, been along for the ride since 3.2-5.0- now 8,
only to find out AFTER paying, downloading and installing that this
software does NOT SUPPORT Nikon D50 RAW files, D70, yes D50 NO.

Digital SLR that can dump to a USB drive03 Jul 2006 01:39 GMT20
I have been wondering if there is a Digital SLR that can dump straight onto
a USB drive without need for a PC interface  -  to explain, we were out at a
party and someone was trying to offload some of their pics onto another
storage media so they could take more. they didn't want ...
Nikon DSLR viewfinder brightness02 Jul 2006 02:20 GMT11
So is it my imagination or are the viewfinders on D50 and D70 less
bright than old film SLRs?  How is the D200 in this regard?  FWIW, I
compared D50 & D70 to N8008s & FM2N.
Thanks,
