Digital Rebel upgrade to Rebel XT?07 Jun 2006 12:56 GMT5
I have an opportunity to return my Canon Digital Rebel in exchange for the
Rebel XT.  New software and 8mp vs. 6.1.  But.....my telephoto lens I use on
the Rebel is an AF 70-300mm, which serves me well.  And I have now taken
10,000 shots with the rebel since Dec. 04.  Sounds like ...

I've got some good seats to see the Padres take on the Cardinals
tomorrow night, so I'm hoping to take some shots with my new D50. I have
the Nikon 18-70mm (f/3.5-4.5G) lens and also a Sigma 28-300 (f/3.5-6.3),

Bear with me ... this will soon be over.
I decided it was time to install the software that was included with my fine
Nikon product.
Picture Project was first. All went well, then Norton Antivirus pops up a

Help to decide a lens or two.05 Jun 2006 18:55 GMT16
After months of reading reviews and such - I decided to buy a Canon
EOS350D/Digital Rebel XT body. As shown in dpreview, I found the
cropped-out image details in higher ISOs better compared to other
available alternatives.
Is there a watermark software program available?05 Jun 2006 18:16 GMT6
Sometimes I see a watermark (copyright) added to bottom of an image. Is
there a specific software program that will add this?, as a batch process?
Thanks for any and all help.

D200 shooting menu doesn't match manual?05 Jun 2006 15:58 GMT6
I just got my D200 and I'm working my way through the manual trying to
learn how it works.  I'm up to the shooting menu and what I'm seeing on the
camera display doesn't match what's in the manual.
The manual (page 30) says the shooting menu should have in it:
How is the Nikon AF-S DX 18-55 mm f2.8 ED?05 Jun 2006 15:22 GMT1
I have been using my Nikkor 20-35 mm AF f2.8 on my D200.  Wide open, it
is crap.  Acceptable at f5.6.  How does the new 18-55 f2.8 do wide
open?

Thank you all for your advice on my new computer05 Jun 2006 11:04 GMT4
I found all your comments educational and helpful. I really enjoy this
news group, it's a great resource to me. I ended up clicking on the red
button on the Dell page. I felt in the end, that I would have an easier time
shifting my PC business software over to another one.
Compact digital camera for DSLR user05 Jun 2006 09:18 GMT10
I know this group is for DSLR users, and so I am. Im am very happy with my
Nikon D70s and in near future I will buy the Nikon D200. But sometimes it
would be nice to have a very small compact digital camera in the pocket for
snapshots. Perhaps some of you feel the same way? For ...
D2xs?05 Jun 2006 02:27 GMT6
Nikon has announced a replacement for the D2x, the D2xs. DPreview says
the upgrades are minor, but include a larger LCD screen and a better
autofocus system. As I recall, the autofocus system was the biggest
source of complaints about the D2x. There are a bunch of other
Canon digital EOS dead?04 Jun 2006 17:48 GMT5
I got email from my daughter who is in Indonesia working as voluteer
doctor. Whe said her camera is dead. When power is turned on nothing
happens. Tried spare fully charged battery, same thing. Is there some
procedure to master reset this thing? Any suggestions?
Focus Confirmation for manual focus and non-electronic lenses on Canon04 Jun 2006 12:41 GMT2
As many have found out, the focus confirmation only works for manual focus
when an autofocus lens is attached to a Canon EOS camera.
When using a M42 or a T-Mount adaptor, I have found that getting accurate
focus is difficult on the standard focusing screen.
Adobe RAW Plugin V 3.404 Jun 2006 01:49 GMT50
I currently use Adobe RAW Plugin 3.3 - are there any changes in V 3.4
or is this an update to support new cameras? Current version works
fine. Any advantage to downloading the newest version?
Thanks,
