2 new online stores that I started up a month or so ago. I am a semi
pro photog myself, and figured I may as well do this, since I and most
others, shoot lingerie/costumes type of thing.

3/8 ball head to 1/4 tripod27 Jun 2006 01:44 GMT13
Is there a standard adapter that will let my new ball head attach to my old
tripod ?
Ball head has female 3/8 x 16 and tripod is male 1/4 x 20.
I bought a 3/8 bolt that will eventually work after some drilling and
high repair cost for canon 20d out-of-warranty27 Jun 2006 01:04 GMT23
OK, so I accidentally banged my camera, a canon 20d. To my surprise,
three pieces fell
out of the bottom of the finder, into the mirror box. I carefully
removed them: 1. a  rectangular piece of frosted plastic with some tabs
SD to Compact Flash Adapter26 Jun 2006 23:08 GMT9
For those like me who have a handful of SD memory cards but whose new
toy only uses CF cards, I found an adaptor at Mittoni.com that does the
trick.  I tried the Type II adapter which is supposed to be good for SD
cards up to 1 GB, but my 2 GB SD card works fine.  Lets my D200 use ...
Tony Polson's Portfolio Photos26 Jun 2006 19:16 GMT55
Many of you know this fellow from his rather eloquent and seemingly
expert posts about the technical aspects of cameras and their various
accessories... But did you also know he is a Professional Photographer
who claims to have had cover shots on a reputable magazine - Paris ...

D200 quirk #226 Jun 2006 01:21 GMT29
So I'm back from a trip and I took over 1000 pictures. I'm trying to move
them from my CF card to my hard drive. The D200 split them into two
folders. This is to be expected because of the FAT limitations. But in the
second folder it started the numbers from 0001 again. So now I ...
Nikon Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR vs. Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8D24 Jun 2006 23:09 GMT22
After using the new Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR for almost two weeks and
pitting it against the tried and true classic Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8D I
came to the following conclusions.  For me, I like both equally well and
would never part with either one.
Is this a good time to invest in Konica-Minolta/Sony a?24 Jun 2006 11:17 GMT26
<Newbie alert on.>
I was so determined to buy 350D but the size was a big turn off for me
after I went to the store to actually feel the camera. I noticed the
cheap feeling of the plastic body and also, its so tiny that I could
Katz Eye focusing screen23 Jun 2006 23:11 GMT49
Several weeks ago, Katz Eye announced availability of focusing screens for
the D2X.  I placed my order immediately, and they said it would take 2-3
weeks.  It arrived today, exactly three weeks later.
I haven't used a proper focusing screen in quite a while, so naturally, the
Super Zooms  Panasonic FZ7 vs Canon S323 Jun 2006 22:31 GMT2
Which did you buy and why?  Any other worth looking at?  Samsung 815?  Fuji
S9000?  Panasonic FZ30?
Want at least 300 mm long range
Want image stabilization
Benro tripod products23 Jun 2006 17:25 GMT25
I've read a couple of reviews on Benro equipment and I've yet to read a
negative one.  I'm in the market for a decent tripod but there's no way
I can afford one of the name brands if I go carbon fiber.
Does anybody here have something like the Benro M-228n6?
Do I need to use lens hood for indoor theater shots?23 Jun 2006 14:19 GMT52
I have a Canon 20D with an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens and was asked to
shoot some actors during a theatrical show. This will be my first time
shooting in this kind of situation. I understand the challenges with indoor
stage lighting but I don't know how much glare to expect. ...
Taking Photos of TV Images23 Jun 2006 00:06 GMT23
I have a D50 w/18-55mm lens and have attempted to take photos of images
appearing on my TV with only moderate success and was wondering if anyone has a
recommended technique.

Lowepro Off Trail-122 Jun 2006 20:54 GMT2
I have a Lowepro Off Trail-1 beltpack bag that meets my modest Nikon
D50 kit transport needs very well.
One thing that I have not been able to figure out though -- what is
the purpose of the elastic loops on the tabs that suspend the camera
