I 'm learning to love raw31 May 2006 02:02 GMT11
My wife and I have just returned from a cruise to Alaska, where we both
took a lot of photos.  On this trip we shot all raw, I found to my
delight that it was almost impossible to over expose an image when
shooting raw.
Fuji vs Nikon31 May 2006 01:24 GMT19
I want to buy a new dslr and initially I was leaning towards the Nikon
D200. However, I've heard quite a bit about the Fujifilm FinePix S3
Pro. At face value it seems as if you get more for less money with the
S3. Any thoughts on this?
Warranty comparison!31 May 2006 00:48 GMT2
I was looking to see just who had the Nikon 12-24 and for how much. The low
price, was unsurprisingly, from one of the Brooklyn dealers. Looking at
their page I was just stunned at the prices for the accessories, which as
we know some is required to get the low price. On this page:

Canon USM vs Non-USM Accuracy30 May 2006 11:45 GMT5
I'm not sure if this got past my ISPs Usenet service so apologies if you've
seen my question already.
I've got a Canon 50mm f1.8 mk2 and a 28mm f2.8 which are both non-USM.
I seem to have hit and a miss focusing accuracy with them.
pics from space taken with Kodak30 May 2006 11:43 GMT11
This proves once again you dont need to spend much more
for a Canon or a Nikon to get great pics, even from space.
Dont know if it was NASA's or the astronauts' choice to bring a Kodak.
[body: Nikon F5, huh?]
Photo Storage Devices29 May 2006 21:36 GMT6
What photo storage device is the best? I am using the Nikon D70s and SanDisk
Extreme III CF-cards (2 GB) and I wonder, what storage device You could
recommend. I have looked at the Epson P-4000 and I have just heard of a new
device from german Jobo...
FA lens for Pentax29 May 2006 21:31 GMT1
one question more about Pentax lens: what about "FA"?
I read they can exchange extra data with the body, in order to let the
camera to use AutoPicture feature. Is it right?
So older lens, with "F" instead of "FA", shouldn't be good choice?!
D-50 - 2 g SD card?29 May 2006 21:04 GMT5
The documentation for the camera says the D-50 will only support up to 1 gig
for the SD card. Has anyone tried to use a larger card?
Battery Grip for Nikon D70s29 May 2006 20:57 GMT3
I am looking for a battery grip for my Nikon D70s and was wondering, if
anybody knew the Hähnel grip, that I have just read about here:

Please let me know of your experiences with this or any other battery grip
Review of 30D not very kind....29 May 2006 17:05 GMT10
In the Apr 22nd issue of the Brit mag. Amateur Photographer.
Basically, they had three crops 100% from a 30D, 20D and 10D.  The 10D
crop showed more detail and presented a less "washed out" looking image
than either the 20D or 30D, both of which had nearly identical images.
Reducing teleconvertor29 May 2006 16:37 GMT21
Today, while driving around with my camera, a thought struck me.
I've got some lenses which I can use on my Nikon D70, but
because of the crop factor, I lose some of the special features.
The 20mm f2.8 is no real problem because the 18-70mm kit lens
