It's true.
We'd better get to the store and stock-up.  Start bottling water.

General purpose lense for 20D13 Apr 2006 23:16 GMT6
I am after a good general purpose lense for my Canon 20D I have a Sigma
18-50 DC lens (which I want to replace) and a 70-300 DG Macro (which I
like). I want something which still has the wide angle capability, was
thinking maybe the Canon EFS 17-85 has anyone had experience with ...
Nikon D200 banding -- how to tell if you're buying a good one?13 Apr 2006 19:11 GMT5
A local dealer has a D200 in stock, at a reasonable price.  Is there a
serial number range I should check for to discover if it was manufactured
before the banding problem was fixed?

Will a Lowepro Sling bag fit a 80-200 f2.8?13 Apr 2006 15:28 GMT1
So I have a really nice lowepro backpack to hold all my equipment, but
it's certainly not the best option for just carrying the camera and a
couple lenses around for when I want easy access. The Sling bags look
pretty nice, and seem a little more sensible than a shoulder/top loader
Canon 10-2213 Apr 2006 00:31 GMT33
I really want to have a wide angle but it's hard to swallow almost $700
price tag. How many of you plunge down that much for this Canon lens or
get a third-party lens?

I've placed on DIMi a new section and started it with noise tests on
the Nikon D200 and Canon 350D/Rebel XT. There are also uncompressed
TIFFs that you can download to judge noise and/or resolution issues for
yourself. The new page is at <http://

35mm equivalent f/stop11 Apr 2006 20:44 GMT39
We talk in terms of 35mm equivalent (full frame) focal length but rarely
compare the f/stop that way. As I understand the light gathering ability
is the same only the COC (circle of confusion) changes.

Considering buying a Nikon D70s, have questions...11 Apr 2006 19:49 GMT6
Hi, all!!  Long-time film guy (both 35mm and Medium Format), and I've
been toying with the idea of getting a Nikon D70s body for use with
some existing AF and MF lenses, and want searching for some input
beyond what I've already read on DPReview.com.
Nikonians.org site = FRAUD11 Apr 2006 14:36 GMT3
Do NOT waste your time with the nikonians.org site. It is run by a bunch of Washingtod DC control freaks who will not allow anyone to question their censorship. they claim to be about free artistic expression, but they're just about themselves.
