Canon, EF lenses and Canon digital SLR12 Mar 2006 02:57 GMT9
I'm currently considering buying a Canon EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT in
the States) and am puzzled re lenses.
Firstly, will the following EF lenses be compatible with the 350D -

Want resolution?  Nikon D200.  Want dynamic range?  A D50!!!!12 Mar 2006 02:20 GMT19
According to one review in a Brit mag called, "Digital Camera."
The pixel density of the D200 (in addition to putting it well behind
the Canon 5D in terms of image quality) means it doesn't have
the dynamic range of the lowly D50!  Part of the gains it has
superclamp or plamp11 Mar 2006 17:26 GMT3
Im looking for something to hold reflectors and/or plants steady.
I was looking at buying a plamp but I'm not to impressed with the price of
the thing, so started to look for alternatives.
I found that a flexible extension is available for the Manfrotto Superclamp.
Camera Resolution vs Monitor Resolution11 Mar 2006 14:51 GMT36
As the effective pixel count on my computer monitor is in the region of 1MP,
what's the best way to view the much higher resolution photos that my Canon
5D can produce on screen?
Maxxum 28 AF Flash / Maxxum 5D11 Mar 2006 14:47 GMT2
I am trying to use a Maxxum 2800 AF flash on my Maxxum 5D.  I am using an
FS-1100 shoe adapter but no matter what I do, the camera doesn't seem to
recognize that there is a flash attached to it.
The flash indicator on the camera does not light.  The auto program
20D mirror and sensor cleaning11 Mar 2006 12:28 GMT7
Sending my 20D to New Jersey to be cleaned.  Anyone else have
experience w/this?  I tried cleaning the mirror and sensor myself and
got LOTS of dust off but there are still MANY specs that appear on my
images.
Nikon D50 setting ISO with button + dial10 Mar 2006 21:23 GMT6
I'm researching the Nikon D50 before I purchase one. One important
feature is the ability to quickly change the ISO sensitivity. Ideally,
this could be done without going into the menus.
On page 39 of the D50 manual, it states "If the monitor is off,

Nikon D70s Kit lens or Sigma 18-105 lens?10 Mar 2006 06:12 GMT26
i am planning to buy the Nikon D70s. Should i opt for the kit lens
(Nikon 18-70) or should i go in for the Sigma 18-105. The Sigma is
cheaper, but does it compare to the kit lens? Also, are there any other
lenses that i can consider.
Digital sensors hampered by ancient lenses10 Mar 2006 03:11 GMT8
Bragging about how a certain camera system has umpteen lenses doesn't
mean a whole lot
when those lenses are just not suitable to digital sensors.

Question about the Pentax *ist D10 Mar 2006 00:51 GMT38
I am ready to move to a digital slr for some of my photo work. I have
used Pentax for over thirty years and have a lot of lenses so the *ist D
seems to be where I want to go. Right now I have a Canon G5 which I
love, but want to use some of my longer tele lenses for photgraphing
Sigma 10-22mm softness/blurring problems09 Mar 2006 23:34 GMT5
Just been on to Sigma UK and they say the fault may be with the flange
in my EOS 350D...anyone else experienced this problem with a 350D?
Cheers
(Hi folks
Halogen Spotlight for after sunset beach shots....09 Mar 2006 14:28 GMT10
So, I am interested in shooting the shadows on the sand...even when I
have run out of time and the sun has gone down.  A Flash won't let me
pick out angles...but my new 12,000,000 candle rechargeable Halogen
Spotlight for 30$ will give me an hour or so of "light"!
Need clarity on deleting CF card data09 Mar 2006 07:50 GMT15
Here is a question I sent to Canon and their response.
When I read the camera's flashcard using Windows Explorer, I see the
following files: DCIM and several files as follows: 100Canon, 200Canon,
300Canon, etc. I know these contain my images until I move them or erase
speedlight 580 on a bracket?08 Mar 2006 20:56 GMT2
I shoot weddings and am about to purchase a 5D and some flashes. I
always shoot with a bracket to switch between a vertical and
horizontal, without weird shadows.
Do I gain anything from buying canon 580's instead of 550's? It is my
