| Want resolution? Nikon D200. Want dynamic range? A D50!!!! | 12 Mar 2006 02:20 GMT | 19 |
According to one review in a Brit mag called, "Digital Camera." The pixel density of the D200 (in addition to putting it well behind the Canon 5D in terms of image quality) means it doesn't have the dynamic range of the lowly D50! Part of the gains it has

| superclamp or plamp | 11 Mar 2006 17:26 GMT | 3 |
Im looking for something to hold reflectors and/or plants steady. I was looking at buying a plamp but I'm not to impressed with the price of the thing, so started to look for alternatives. I found that a flexible extension is available for the Manfrotto Superclamp.

I am trying to use a Maxxum 2800 AF flash on my Maxxum 5D. I am using an FS-1100 shoe adapter but no matter what I do, the camera doesn't seem to recognize that there is a flash attached to it. The flash indicator on the camera does not light. The auto program

| Nikon D50 setting ISO with button + dial | 10 Mar 2006 21:23 GMT | 6 |
I'm researching the Nikon D50 before I purchase one. One important feature is the ability to quickly change the ISO sensitivity. Ideally, this could be done without going into the menus. On page 39 of the D50 manual, it states "If the monitor is off,

| Digital sensors hampered by ancient lenses | 10 Mar 2006 03:11 GMT | 8 |
Bragging about how a certain camera system has umpteen lenses doesn't mean a whole lot when those lenses are just not suitable to digital sensors. http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/digital-view.shtml

I am ready to move to a digital slr for some of my photo work. I have used Pentax for over thirty years and have a lot of lenses so the *ist D seems to be where I want to go. Right now I have a Canon G5 which I love, but want to use some of my longer tele lenses for photgraphing

| Halogen Spotlight for after sunset beach shots.... | 09 Mar 2006 14:28 GMT | 10 |
So, I am interested in shooting the shadows on the sand...even when I have run out of time and the sun has gone down. A Flash won't let me pick out angles...but my new 12,000,000 candle rechargeable Halogen Spotlight for 30$ will give me an hour or so of "light"!

| Need clarity on deleting CF card data | 09 Mar 2006 07:50 GMT | 15 |
Here is a question I sent to Canon and their response. When I read the camera's flashcard using Windows Explorer, I see the following files: DCIM and several files as follows: 100Canon, 200Canon, 300Canon, etc. I know these contain my images until I move them or erase

| speedlight 580 on a bracket? | 08 Mar 2006 20:56 GMT | 2 |
I shoot weddings and am about to purchase a 5D and some flashes. I always shoot with a bracket to switch between a vertical and horizontal, without weird shadows. Do I gain anything from buying canon 580's instead of 550's? It is my
