EOS350D and non EX flash21 Mar 2006 22:34 GMT5
I've just bought a second-hand EOS350D.
The handbook reads as though this camera can be used with flashguns other
than the Canon EX series but with limitations.
I've tried it with a Canon 300TL with no success at all. The camera does not
Calibration Software/Hardware21 Mar 2006 19:48 GMT3
Hello, would like a few opinions on Calibration software/Hardware.  Have
been referred to the Spyder2PRO system.  The two reviews I have read said
this is the best system in their opinion.
How do you feel, what do you use, how often, and does it do LCD's well.
Typical Wait for Nikkor 18-200VR?21 Mar 2006 14:40 GMT4
Can anybody indicate what the current wait for Nikkor 18-200 AFS VR lens is right now?  I note that just about all vendors have this lens back ordered.
Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of buying Canon 24-10521 Mar 2006 13:13 GMT4

I have to sell 70-200/4 and 17-40/4 to be able to fund this purchase.
Canon 5D Dark Corners - Yes and No.21 Mar 2006 09:57 GMT26
I have been lurking through this debate and decided to put in my two
cents, and the original topic was getting too crowded with other stuff.
I am am an electro-optic engineer, and have seen odd things that occur
with focal planes that use microlenses.  In the particular case I
Camera manuals on line?21 Mar 2006 03:46 GMT12
Do Nikon, Canon, Olympus, etc, make their camera manuals available on
line?  Doing so is common in many lines of tech gear, but I haven't
been able to find them on the camera manufacturer web sites.  Am I
just looking in the wrong places?
SB cards and transfer to computers.21 Mar 2006 00:22 GMT3
This is the first time I've used digital. I shot a few frames this
morning, loaded them into the computer and deleted the ones I didn't
like.  When I put the card back into the camera it showed no files.  So
I thought I must have erased whatever I didn't deleted.  Then I slid it

Another newbie question: why B&W mode?20 Mar 2006 17:22 GMT14
Why do some DSLRs have a B&W mode?  Is there any advantage to shooting in
B&W vs. shooting in color and converting to B&W in PhotoShop?  Either way,
you're throwing away data, and it seems to make sense to throw it away as
late as possible.  Or is there more to it than that?

"Plug in my findings for the EOS 5D and you get the following:
((2130D+2020D)/2 +2310H +2220V= 2200 average lines
How important is Oly's dust reduction system?20 Mar 2006 11:36 GMT63
I'm just starting to research DSLRs to replace my 25 years of investment in
the OM-2 system.  My only experience with digital so far is a Cannon
PowerShot (which is wonderful for what it's designed to do).
The one feature the Olympus E-series seems to have which nobody else does
Got my 30D today20 Mar 2006 05:14 GMT16
Now I have to RTFM to see the differences between my new purchase and my
10D.  My initial feeling is good, I like the almost instant on, the 5fps
shooting is almost scary just thinking at the number of shots to look at
after the button has been pressed.  The bigger screen is really ...

I have a Canon 20D and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a lens
that would be ideal to photograph at an airshow.
Thanks for any and all help.

All you wise pedants out there - can you tell me how to avoid top posting
when I start a thread? Would it make you feel a lot better if I would put
some crap above the text?
